It's happened to me a couple times with materials like TPE/TPR. They can only go through so much before they break down; it's a good thing they aren't too expensive to begin with. If you're looking for a more cost effective option check out my reviews on this and this. Both are pretty good for inexpensive strokers.

I got given a really cheap masturbator made out of a jelly type material once, and it began to split after the first use. After the second I threw it in the bin.
