Oh that smell!

I have been noticing that some Mastubators and realistic vaginas have a very strong smell out of the box. Some are obnoxious, some are sweet smelling.

Some of the products are purposely perfumed.

Some products are foul smelling naturally due to the materials.

How do you feel about this? Do you prefer a perfumed product?

My feelings, I would rather a non smelly product. Smells usually fade in time, but It is just such a hassle.

I have used anti-bacterial soap, GermX, and even scented soaps, and sometimes, I still have the smell on my hands! Its insane.

I can understand the point of a perfumed product, and I would support the notion if handled differently. For one, I think the perfume should be light and not heavy. I have had a product come that was literally soaked, the plastic container was wet with the stuff!

I would rather toys didn't smell at all. I have had one or two that had an interesting scent like strawberries or cherries, but that was kind of obnoxious too.

I have seen a toy that is also supposed to be scented like strawberries, I havent tried it, and i do not think I will.

It wouldn't be as bad if the scent or perfume did not come off onto the hands or any other body part. I could deal with the room smelling like the product for a few minutes until I could spray air freshener.

I would prefer a toy had no smell or scent applied to it at all. I've only had a few scented products and it was obvious this was done to cover up horrid material smells.

Yeah, I had a similar thought.

I just think that after they perfect this life like skin dilemma they need to fix the stench.

I think i would prefer an unscented product that smells of freshly manufactured materials, than a product with enough moose piss to fill a swimming pool (sorry if that joke was crude, or not funny).

Do you need moose piss? My mother has a surplus this year. She also has a three legged deer running around her property just as well as it did when it had four legs. It's bambi burgers all around this winter......(We had a moose actually fall into the tarped pool one year. Another year a moose charged the glass floor to ceiling window because we keep lots of indoor plants. ) I got moose piss for you if you need it.

haha Misha

No thanks, I probably couldn't afford the shipping

I bet that moose caused a lot of damages :'(

I am glad there are no Moose-ers here, I would end up probably coming across one on a walk and be horned-ed

I think the artificial scents are usually applied to cover up a material scent, and although I personally don't like it, I understand why manufacturers do it. I would definitely prefer they didn't, but I would also prefer that the materials didn't stink. I appreciate it when manufacturers use materials that have little or no scent and then are not forced to consider using perfumes to cover it up.
Nice moose piss conversation guys. I had never considered the problems a moose might cause if they ended up in the wrong place!

only if the product actually smelled like pussy, other perfumes seem distracting

This post made me think that a pouch filled with charcoal from a fish store would help this problem as it purpose is to absorb odors. Heck you can even buy pre-made filters and just through them in. Charcoal is used in hunting outfits just for this purpose.

Just a thought.

I prefer products with no scent, though I certainly understand why manufacturers choose presumably "pleasant" scents over the material's scent in the case of those that do have a smell. I always find toys with too much smell to be a little bit of a turn off and invariably clean them more before use than I would with another toy.

Toys that smell often are outgassing plastic and latex "softeners" and these can be quite harmful to your health. We ditched our first vibrator, because I hated the smell (like a mix between a shower curtain and imitation strawberry) and it also tore. When I learned that phtalates (spelling here?) and other dangerous chemicals cause these smells we stopped using it.

I try to stick with silicone, hard plastic, metal or acrylic, for safety and NO smell.

The newer TPE/TPR materials seem to have minimal smell as well, but they are still porous and harder to take care of than silicone.

Silicone masturbators are rare, as silicone is not only expensive but often a little stiff for comfort. Rumor has it that there's a new VixSkin sleeve out there somewhere...

I don't like those strong rubbery smells but don't mind pleasantly perfumed toys.
