I think part of the reason is that Fleshlights are easier to maneuver. If you want to be on top: you hold it under you, if you want to be on bottom: you can still lie down. With some of the other toys, they're a little more cumbersome. Another thing (something that I noticed for me), is that with the Fleshlight I have more control with the angle, adjusting the clitoris to find mine, the amount of pressure you have etc. So with the more cumbersome toys, not only do you almost always have to be on top, but you also have to do more work to get it right.

That would actually be a great idea, although it probably won't be as close to the real thing as you'd like it.
