Care of soft 100% silicone.

Hello everyone.
I have always been a little intrigued by the softer silicone varieties. Maybe a little suspicious, though I do trust the companies that make it.
I realize there may be added care precautions and instructions in regard to softer silicones (O2, Vixskin, supersoft silicone, etc). I've heard stories of permanent indentations in the surface, easy tearing, etc.

Does anyone have any advice or experiences to share regarding care and maintenance of soft, 100% silicone? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Personally, I own an O2 Adam from Tantus and have never had any issues, but always store it upright... It seems to be durable enough in spite of its squishier exterior.

In any case, thanks for your responses in advance.

I have hear some of the same things but not seen it my self. I store my Vixskin Randy in the tube it comes in and even though the tube is a bit small there is no signs of dents. I have never thought it would tear easy, seems pretty strong to me.

We only have the Vixskin Goodfella, and we store him in his original plastic container. Storage space isn't an issue for us, so we don't mind doing this. I don't think I have ever read of someone having an issue with indentations in their toy, but I don't plan on finding out of our own dildo.

I have two VixSkins that I store upright in the original container, as per Vixen Creations' instructions - I have heard of people storing VixSkin on its side and getting indentations, and since the Tex is my current favorite, I don't want it damaged. I also have a Super Soft Mark that I just store in a makeup bag with my other silicone dildos, since Tantus gave no special instructions.

Neither method has resulted in any damage yet, and they seem quite durable - no tears or anything (my Mark can take an amazing amount of stretching and twisting and still come out just fine). I imagine you'd have to be pretty rough with them to cause a tear.

I basically go with the manufacturer's recommendations. When in doubt, I'd say choose the careful route and store a toy upright to help it keep its shape. Soft silicone is just too lovely to risk, I think.

Don't bite them. Seriously.

My O2 Mark has slight teeth indentations where I bit it. Whoops.

Otherwise, I don't take care of them in any different way.

I store Vixskin in their original containers per their recommendations. I asked Tantus if there were any special storage instructions for the super soft silicone and Jenna indicated that no special care is required: link

I store my VIP super soft in a ziploc bag and have had no issues.

Ah, wonderful. Thanks for your replies, everyone!
I've never had any issues with the Adam, and I am soon to receive an O2 Cush, so I wanted to make sure there weren't care instructions I didn't know about.

Thanks again! Silicone really is an amazing material, no?
