PVC Pleasure or Poison?

Contributor: ArcaneBlast ArcaneBlast
I've just noticed that some toys on this site is made with PVC, however I've heard that there is a chance PVC is poisonous. Many sites to meet FTC requirements for their state have to put a notice stating that there is PVC and list the dangers.

What do you guys think about PVC toys? Do you believe it's poison, or do you feel that there is no risk?

I prefer not using PVC, but I'm generally ok with it.

I wasn't really aware, but I don't go for many toys with that material. I generally like silicone and glass and such. So it's not much of an issue for me.

Why settle for PVC when there are better, safer options?

The ones for toys do go through testing.

I wouldn't chance it. Even if PVC wasn't unsafe, it still can't be fully sterilized so in time it will start to harbor harmful bacteria that could give you some nasty infections. I know the cost of toys made with body-safe materials like silicone and glass is higher initially, but they really do last a lifetime if you take care of them properly. Give yourself the peace of mind and save up your money/eden points for them, they're definitely worth it.

I’ve trashed a whole collection of toys for this reason... now i won’t touch anything unless it’s glass, metal, or silicone. I have one plastic toy but it’s never inserted.
