TPR Silicone penis sleeve - safe to use with condom?

Contributor: Kestrel Kestrel
I have this sleeve: link

It's made of TPR Silicone - is that safe to put on top of a lubricated condom (lubed condoms use silicone)? I.e., I'd put the condom on my penis, and then put the sleeve on top of that.

Or should I put the condom over the sleeve? Seems like the ridges might tear the condom.

Most importantly, I don't want the condom to be torn. Secondly, I'm wondering if using the sleeve with the lubed condom would ruin, or begin to degrade, the sleeve.

Are you sure that the condom has silicone based lubes? Not all use silicone, if so I would not take a chance unless you do a spot test first.

I do not think the condom will work over the sleeve so use the sleeve over the condom.

I've never used a penis sleeve so I don't have any experience with them. However, if having the condom intact is important, there might be risks if the sleeve creates any friction. If so, you may want to consider using two condoms.

I thought all lubed condoms use silicone. The particular condoms I use are Trojan Magnums, and they have that greasy silicone feel, not the wet water-based lube feel.

LOL, of course keeping the condom intact is important. If it wasn't, I wouldn't bother using a condom in the first place.

Two condoms sounds like a recipe for a tear.

Most condoms still use water based lubricants. Although I can't find a list of lubricant ingredients on the Trojan site Magnum page, the Trojan website says the following:

QUESTIONS ABOUT TROJAN® CONDOMS

Can TROJAN® condoms be used with massage oil, baby oil, petroleum jelly, etc.?

NO. Oil can destroy the condom. To prevent damage to the condom, only water-based personal lubricants should be used with latex condoms.

This would lead me to believe that the lubricant on the condoms is still water based.

I would be concerned about friction between the sleeve and the condom tearing the condom like Kindred said, but would not recommend using 2 condoms because wearing 2 condoms at once has been proven to break the condoms and is recommended against, again because of the friction.

Well, according to some of the reviews; The Trojan magnum ecstasy contain silicone, and the Trojan magnum XL has water based. So I am not sure what kind you have but based on your description of the lube I would agree that it is silicone. Time for some new condoms to us with this sleeve. Still might be worth doing a spot test, just to make sure.

I was just going to point him to Lauren's review that noted the lube differences If you have Magnums in the house, you can also just check the package and read the lube ingredients.

I just looked - the condom foil doesn't specify and neither does the box. But as I mentioned, it feels greasy, which is why I think it's silicone.

If it's water-based, then we know it's safe to use with a TPR silicone sleeve. But assuming it's silicone, is it safe?

Penis sleeve as in a textury band that goes around the penis for sex or are you talking about a masturbation sleeve?
