E-Stim ( Safety, How-To Use, and Other Important Info?)

Contributor: shlurp shlurp
I just discovered e-stim toys. I looked into them, though, and was a little scared off(although I already have two).

I've had trouble finding how-to use guides for EF e-stim products- does anyone have a link at all? For example: I got one with the pads( replacement pads) and I'm unsure of how to clean them or when to replace them(I saw replacements(in link) but nothing about when to ?) .

One of the items I really wanted to try was the electro nipple clamps but I have read that crossing the heart could cause it to stop or other issues with the heart, regardless of having pre-existing conditions or not. How do I know what's safe and what do I look for?

Would be really helpful if a safe play guide for the different products on what to do/what not to do and when to replace/what to clean with was listed with the product!

Here is a useful list from lifehacker.com.
Precautions:
As with any kind of play, it’s important to put safety first. Electro sex is totally safe so long as you take the right precautions. Most devices have limits on the amount of electricity allowed to run through them, which is fairly minimal, but there are other factors that need to be considered. Below are a few things to bear in mind:

Do not use an electrostimulation unit if you have heart problems or have a pacemaker fitted.
Do not use electrostimulation devices while pregnant.
Do not use electrostimulation devices above the waist – electricity should never pass your heart so DO NOT put devices anywhere near your nipples.
Do not use electrosex kits when feeling fatigued, dehydrated, undernourished, unwell or not at your best.
Do not use electro sex toys on broken or irritated skin.
Use a water-based lubricant (with internal attachments) or electro-conductive gel (with external attachments) to increase sensitivity and avoid any skin tenderness.
Always ensure that the power is off whilst you’re applying a device to your body (that includes while you’re inserting a dildo or butt plug).
Remove all jewelry before you begin experimenting.

I have not had a problem using e-stim on my nipples but the power level is fairly low on the ones sold on this site. Some people use some really powerful shocks.

Soundside46 gave a great answer. Also, you're welcome to read our guidelines Electro stimulation for beginners and How To Play With The Best E-Stim Sex Toys for more detailed and exhaustive info about ways to use and clean e-stim toys, including info about pads.

Cleaning of electro toys depends on the material they made of; warm water, mild soap, and/or sanitizer or a toy cleaner usually are enough. Clean your toys before and after each use. Before cleaning, detach cables if they can be detached. Don't put e-stim toys in a dishwasher or washing machine.

Each nipple clamp should be bipolar, that means the electric won't go through the heart, only the area squeezed within clamp is stimulated.

As for replacing, you should never use a product if there is any damage to a toy itself, cables or controller. Pads should be replaced as soon as they lose their stickiness.
