I'm considering getting some (if not all) of the Dona products after hearing so many good things about it. I'm just wondering which "fragrance" I should get. From what I've read, the "fragrance" doesn't actually describe what scent you'll be receiving (I assume that's random) but rather, what aphrodisiac ingredient you'll get. So my question is: Which ones do you like the most?
What are your favorite Dona aphrodisiacs?

First of all - you are right - that the aphrodisiacs do not equal the fragrances/scents. That doesn't mean that they aren't present in the scents but they aren't the scents themselves. For instance - I've read of blue lotus being like pop rocks...hmmm...and Camu Camu which is a superfruit and high in vitamin C - smelling like coconut and vanilla.
So it is vitally important that when you read reviews - you hold these reviewers (myself too) accountable to telling you what it smells like. Ask them what the top notes are that they notice - what do they notice half an hour later? One person told me that their mangosteen candle has floral scents in it. I haven't noticed that- however- I was so overwhelmed by so many scents, etc. from many product lines - that I couldn't handle having the candle burning at first.
Something to remember though is that the fragrance is going to be different from product to product. For instance - I'm going to use mangosteen here...the mangosteen body wash smells very different from the mangosteen body mist lotion. It smells even different still from the linen spray.
Any of the products that you are looking at which are designed for washing/bathing (except maybe the polish) - are going to have the scent changed by the presence of the soap products in there. Even the milk bath product has a bit of a milk smell to it that changes the scent.
You'll find the clearest scents (from my experience) in the body mist lotion, the linen spray and quite possibly the body butter. I haven't tried any body lotion that wasn't the body mist lotion - which is oil based.
To me - thus far - here are how I perceive the scents of the products I've been using.
Mangosteen - I almost always smell melon and tropical scents in there - my favorite product for this is the body mist lotion
Pomegranate - I smell berries and melon and this is definitely sweeter than the mangosteen which I felt was a sweet melon - the body drizzle however tastes like a whipped sweet strawberry yogurt with tiny tart pieces inside it
Acai reminds me of sweet almond in the one product I have so far (massage oil) - yet I still smell some sort of fruit in it that I can't place
Camu Camu to me continues to smell like a rich french vanilla with coconut in some products (body butter) and yet almost a vanilla coconut/floral scent in the body mist lotion
The other two aphrodisiacs I don't feel like I can describe yet...maybe as I experience them more.
Something else to consider is that we'll each experience the fragrances of these (and any other products) differently. A good example of this (sorry Mike) - is how Mike and I both experience "Island Hopping" by Not Soap Radio. How many reviews have you seen where folks describe it as pina colada or fruity or whatever? Mike picks up not on those but on a musky undertone (which I can't smell at all) and says it reminds him of "dead skunk in the road". Same product- but two people experiencing it differently.
What I am starting to do now is to use the various products with other product lines to help me decide what I want to continue to buy in the future. For instance, I'm not a super big fan of the body wash. It's good - don't get me wrong. But it doesn't have the clear notes of the mist lotion. So I'm using it with my Not Soap Radio products (the mist lotion that is) because it is light enough that the scents work together.
I'm not into bath products as I prefer showers - so unless my daughter asks for more - when our herbal essence bath, chromotherapy bath and bath milk is gone - I probably won't be replacing it.
But I'll probably always have the body butter, the body mist lotion, the body polish/scrub and maybe the massage oil in most of the aphrodisiacs.
Have I made any sense or is it all clear as mud?

I think I'm most interested in Pomegranate right now, then, and I'll definitely avoid Camu Camu because I HATE vanilla. I'm looking forward to your descriptions of Blue Lotus and Goji Berry.
It is important to note that almost every single person will smell these as different than the other person. They have been designed specifically this way and also combined with the fact everyone smells things different any way.
While Pomegranate to me smells very sweet and berry like, in the bath salts it's near identical to strawberry pop rocks, the next person might think of it as a tart juicy berry, and some people have even said it smells floral.
Blue lotus someone described as smelling of pop rocks, but I smell a light natural flower smell with hints of sweetness like a blue-raspberry candy.
But from each persons description you can at least gather an idea of what to expect.

Mind you - I'd already bought several of the items after reading on the DONA facebook page how folks described them as vanilla and coconut.
Anyway - the fact Mike likes Camu Camu (and hates Island Hopping by Not Soap Radio) and I don't care as much for Camu Camu (and love Island Hopping) - just strikes me as funny.
I think the bath essence my daughter used and I reviewed was goji berry if I remember right.
I'm so excited....I have several items coming in tomorrow - anything from mangosteen body butter (about time) to some of the perfume gels (which should be interesting) to some more body drizzles.

And I'm glad you're happy with the perfume gel. I considered getting it when I make my first order of Dona products but I've never even heard of "perfume gel" before, let alone used it.
I just got the Camu Camu perfume gel - really debated on getting it - but to be honest with you - it is my favorite Camu Camu infused product. Of course, my favorite perfume gel is....pomegranate.

I personally would recommend staying away from Camu Camu in the body butter. (I do like it in the roll-on perfume gel).
