Cock Rings - why around the balls?

Contributor: Bill220 Bill220
I've never used a cock ring and I'm looking at getting a basic one to try. I see some that are intended for use the around the penis and testicles and ones that are for the cock only.

Why would I want one for both penis and testicles? It looks like with your balls jammed up against your penis that it would hinder full penetration and be kind of painful.

Also, do these things really prolong an erection or not? That's what I'm looking for. I can go really good for a 1/2 hour but after that I go limp and that's it, I'm done.

Several months ago these were my same questions. At 60+, even with Viagra and Cialis, the erections have a tendency of fading. So,,after months of reading about cock rings, we took the plunge.

We had used several different vibrating rings which were worn on the shaft only, and while my wife enjoyed the sensations, they really did not do a whole lot for me. So we first tried a Tantus Silicone C-ring, which is worn around the penis and testicles, and I was totally caught of guard! My erections lasted much better, there may have been a slight increase in girth, and the climaxes seem to last a bit longer.

Just a week ago I received a Fury stainless steel ring to review, and while we have just had the opportunity to use it once,,and I am now a FIRM beliver in them. My wife said she felt a noticable difference in size and hardness, the climax lasted almost twice as long as normal,,and for the first time, I was able to continue sex and have a second orgasim! Not sure if this was a one time thing or not, but will soon find out.

As far as comfort, I have found both of them quite comfortable, although the metal one wins out for total comfort. We have not noticed any problems with full penetration and as far as pain, the only discomfort I have noticed is when sitting for any length of time while wearing the metal ring.

Soooo, my answer would be to consider giving them a try and see what happens. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you sir!

I take a variety of medications that sometimes interfere with my erections and I use Cialis when needed. Even with the Cialis I sometimes find that after 1/2 hour I'm not able to maintain as much as I'd like. I ordered a ring yesterday. I figured for a $10, why not give it a try? If I like it, I'll get a metal one.

There are many different types of cock rings - as you noted, some go just around the shaft and others that go around both your cock and your balls. There some that stretch and others that don't, as well as different kinds of loops and straps. You may want to try some others, especially some of the rigid silicone ones - as they can be easier to remove in an emergency - before moving up to a metal one. Have fun!

As others have noted, cock rings can be worn around just the cock, around the cock and balls, or even just around the balls. As orgasm approaches, the testicles retract up towards the body. By including them in the ring, it prevents the testicles from fully retracting and can delay and prolong orgasm. Many partners like when the balls are included because they are pressed forward more than normal and can be felt more when thrusting.

Also in case you didn't already know, it is generally recommended that cock rings not be worn for more than 30 minutes at a time and an hour between uses to prevent possible permanent nerve damage.

If you do not already shave or trim, you might want to consider doing so before using a silicone ring. If not, it's no big deal,,,when you remove the ring it will just pull the hair out, one at a time!

Fortunately, I shave. I tried out the ring last night and wasn't impressed. My erection didn't last any longer than it normally does.

Sometimes you have to use a small size if too lose it will not work, that's my experience.

Some of the lower cost stretchy cock rings are too stretchy and will give you the "look" without the function.

Some years ago because of some meds I was on my doc prescribed a vacuum pump and the associated "tension ring". That's the real deal as far as function goes. Oh, and btw the "tension ring" did not go behind the balls, just around the cock. It worked as intended but the instructions said not to leave the tension rings on for more than thirty minutes or physical damage as in injury could occur. Honestly, it really did hurt, the ring was so tight, even left a bruise on my cock. But again it really did work.

My husband and i tried the cock lasso style ring, ram squeezer by nasstoys, and we enoyed the effects. The material is soft and its simple to use. He doesnt shave, so i am care ful about putting it on and removing it. I also am curious if wrapping the testicles is a good idea or not, we might try. We were a little concernef because the ring left an indent on his shaft, but it went away about 2 hrs later. He said it felt comfortable and definetly no pain he said it was like a tight snuggness simular to a condom that fits too small, (he uses magnum condoms b/c of his thickness) but while we used the cock ring we didnt use any condoms. It seemed to stay in place quite well, dispite how slippery things got. Over all im happy and so is he!

Sounds too tight. Be careful. Perhaps get a larger size. We'll found both ways to be good.

A lot of great info about over-the-balls cock rings, guys, thanks! But what do you think about the rings that go separately around the shaft and around the balls - sorta like this one. I've heard reviews about that kind of rings being more effective in terms of additional stimulation for guys, but does it make a whole lot of difference in terms of improved performance?

Ginger, that one looks nice. Pinks not very masculine though. Getting one ring on and especially off is slightly uncomfortable. Two is even more uncomfortable. Adding vibrating function is not a deal maker. OW doesn't care for them especially. Only stimulates when parked. During the act, she only wants nonstop thrusting.

You're right, OH, isn't particularly masculine, but again, this one works primarily for the ladies who love the vibration of a cock ring.

Then again, we have an assortment of these ball straps among our new arrivals - they also go around the penis and balls, and they feel extremely masculine. You feel like something like this would work?

This is an interesting hybrid. Usually leather straps use snaps because the leather doesn't stretch and typically silicone straps don't use snaps because they stretch. But if you're not comfortable squeezing the family jewels through the stretched silicone - this could just what you need!

I'm guessing that "squeezing family jewels" through anything isn't the most comfortable of feelings. But I do get the appeal of leather over silicone, because silicone can drag the skin, inflicting less than nice sensations. However, I couldn't help but remember about metal cock rings. We don't have the ones that are metal and go over the balls, as well, but there are some like it out there. I was just wondering - how far the BDSM scale from "blindfolding" to, let's say "figging or sounding" are the metal over-the-balls cock rings? I imagine pretty far

I have several metal cock rings. I don't consider them on the BDSM scale at all. If sized correctly they are quite easy to use. For me a 2" inside diameter is the right size - and most come in that size. My favorite is called the Omega. Hint - put it on before arousal!

I did just get a metal ring with a small ring for attaching a leash to - that one may qualify for BDSM - but it's nothing like sounding - maybe just ahead of blindfold.

Handy hint, indeed

Well, a leash definitely makes it more BDSM-ish in style and entourage, but I meant the ratio of pain to pleasure. 'Cause it definitely reads as painful.

Stretchy silicone rings are no doubt the best for beginners, but there is no pain associated with a metal cock ring - unless you do it completely wrong.

Since your avatar say that "contributor didn't publish own profile" I don't know if you have male original equipment below the belt or not. However, if you do, and have difficulty orgasming, you might try prostate stimulation. It isn't the same as the sort of orgasm with ejaculating several meters like when you were young but in some ways it's even better. Such as extending the length of time that the orgasm lasts. That of course depends upon how you achieve the prostate orgasm, as in with help from a partner or doing it all yourself.

And in case RonLee didn't guess about that equipment under the belt, I might add that, for a proper squirting orgasm, you definitely need outstanding stimulation. A raging massage wand on the clit usually does the trick, but some women do require precise G-spot stimulation. I can recommend a wand right now - Magic Force is one of our bestsellers, it's extra powerful, cordless and has an exceptionally flexible head. As for the G-spot stimulation and other ways of achieving squirting - I think I'd better offer you our awesome guide on the topic. Hope it answers most of your questions.

I guessed but looks like I guessed wrong,GingerAnn... LOL!

In my personal experience, my first wife didn't even know that "squirting" was a possibility. Until that is she was able to do it, with my help of course. For her it was position and angle. Her on her back as if in missionary position. Me kneeling with her ankles on my shoulders engaging in anal penetrative intercourse. That worked for her and I'm certainly not over endowed either. It must have been the angle of my cock stimulating her G-spot or her internal clitoral root. In any case it worked with her.

Dear RonLee, and how about double penetration cock rings? Like the Double penetrator, maybe? I imagine it must bring more pressure to the G-spot from the back, with the clit tickler working on the C-spot and you, doing your thrusting. It could be a real squirting success.
