Both can be used externally. But while a G-spot vibe can still potentially work against your clit, a clit vibe won't necessarily work against your G-spot.

i guess i should clarify a little bit more. i wouldn't use the clit vibe for my g-spot. I just thought a g-spot vibe might be stronger when used externally. also, might be stronger plus have a better handle.

I'd rather have a good clit vibe. I like G-spot vibrators, but in most cases internal vibrations don't make me go crazy and I find they don't often work well on my clit, so there wouldn't be much point. G-spot rubbing from a good dildo is much more pleasurable.

Strength really depends less on the shape and more on the specific vibrator. Some clit vibes are very powerful, like the MiMi or the We-Vibe Tango.

As for having a better handle, that's really up to you. I find small vibes easier to hold against my clit than longer ones in most cases, but you may find that the longer handle works better for you. You'd really just have to experiment on that one.

You might look into wand-style clit vibes, which have longer handles and tend to be pretty strong. In particular there's the ever-popular Hitachi Magic Wand, known for being very powerful if that's what you need.

I love g-spotters, but it really doesn't get me to orgasm. At the same time, a clit vibe will get me to orgasm, but I don't get the satisfaction of a 'full' or 'deep' orgasm
