G4 Tiger.. Charging for 2 days!

Contributor: Skogul Skogul
I received my Tiger a few days ago. I've been charging it a few hours at a time (probably close to 12 hours or more total), and the red charging light still won't turn off.

It came with the red USB charger.

This all seems a little silly. Is it going to take this long every time? How much time will I get with it between charges?

Thanks! Sorry if I sound grumpy. I want to use it!!!!!!!! LOL

I don't have the Tiger, but I own a Drei. It took almost 16 hours for the initial charge to complete. Rather than charging it for few hours at a time, you should let your Tiger do a complete full charge -- leave it alone until the indicator light turns off by itself. Be patient -- it will prolong the longevity of your toy.

If you want to charge at a faster speed, go purchase and charge your toy through a USB wall plate charger, it will be much faster than charging it through the USB socket of your computer.

You bought a G4 Tiger and it came with a USB charger? Hmm. All of my G4s came with wall chargers, and didn't take nearly that long. Also, the click and charge connection has to be solid to get a good charge going, and they are a bit temperamental. Did you have it propped somewhere it couldn't jiggle and lose the magnetic connection?

Fun Factory changed that, all their Click'N'Charge toys come with a USB charger now...convenient for international travellers, I guess.

Good to know! My Zwei still came with a wall charger, so it must be fairly recent, eh?

I guess so! But I'd rather use the magnetic wall charger because it charges faster.

I believe the main reason why Fun Factory's doing that is to satisfy their customers worldwide. Different countries have different voltages, so having a USB charger will save Fun Factory the hassle to manufacture different chargers to suit customers from different parts of the world.

Yup, mine took 16 hours for the first charge of my Drei and 9 hours for the Eins. The red corded USB charger is the latest and has a stronger magnetic connection to the toy, in my experience, than the one before it. And, as Rossie pointed out, if you want to go the fastest, choose a wall charger adapter for USB plugs. I am looking into a speed charger right now and will let you know how my experiments go with using it on my Fun Factory and other USB rechargeable sex toys. But, you can use any adapter; I used the one that came with my Nook eReader and have used the ones that also came with my other toys, such as the Black Label rabbit and the Revel Body (the initial ones came with it, now you have to buy their travel kit to get it included). I am looking into getting an adapter that channels the highest amount of electricity as I can safely use to speed up these charges!

Now, as to the other question you asked...as long as you do not drain the battery all the way (I did this once with the Eins), you will not have to do so long a charge again. And let me tell you, the charge lasts so long on the Stronics at least, that I don't even wait for it to get way down. After a long session, or a few shorter ones, I just recharge. And the recharge time in the wall after a 4+ hour use of my Drei was about 12 hrs! When I use it for an hour or two, it charges in about 6-9 hours which is unbelievably bad to me when compared to other toys. So, this is why I am exploring faster charging! I will say that the toy does last an incredibly long time at high speeds, so that must be the trade off in performance.

Thanks for the replies. I broke down and tried it out for about 10 mins. I couldn't help myself!

Umm... wow. Worth every penny!!!!

I've had it charging on my computer the past 3 hours. Going to let it go all day and not touch it again until the light turns off. Don't want to hurt this wonderful toy.

Going to buy a wall charger for it later today.

Glad you like it as much as the rest of us, lol! And you will be so much better off with the wall adapter. They have them on Amazon for less that $3, but RadioShack would be and easy place to run in an pick one up!

Two days waiting for a new vibe to charge would be unbearable for me.
But good things come to those who wait. Have fun!

So I had it charging for a good few hours following my last post. It's been right next to me plugged into my laptop.

I thought I heard something coming from it lol. Almost like the vibe did a quick half-a-second- buzz. I thought I was going crazy, but after the 3rd or 4th time I decided to unplug it.

Was still red at that point. I'll try again tomorrow. =(

Hmm, that is weird, maybe your computer could no longer charge it for some reason and it was alerting you? I don't know, but I am glad you unplugged it. If it's been plugged in for so long, there is no danger using it, I don't think and then get a wall charger adapter to recharge it after use. But if you want to play it safe, I'd just finish charging it all the way like they recommend. I would personally contact FunFactory Customer Service and ask about this, plus that buzzing signal like noise you got!

Here you guys go if you want just a basic, cheap converter

OK, people! I have been researching and have discovered that this is a pain in the ass, but I can figure it out for all or us if you bear with me. Yes, I am getting a USB charging meter to test the different sex toys and how they are negotiating the power they allow to recharge them! Want to read the tech info for yourself? Check out this article that tells us all about this business and why just having a high speed charger is not the guarantee of a fast charge. Yeah, surprise, but the damn item you plug in has proprietary info about how it negotiates with the charger to allow the power into it. Having a meter will allow me to see the details and determine what converters work faster or not. I am buying converters as well, just have to locate the least expensive, but fastest options. Now, once I order and receive everything, it's time to break out the worst offenders first, the Stronic Drei and Stronic Eins and see how to improve their charge times!! I will post all my results and include links on where i got my items. None of this is that expensive (if you aren't buy several to test like I am, lol), so you will only need to get one item, likely under $15 should this result in a faster charge. If not, then you can use the link in my previous post and by a cheapo converter for less than $3 (that includes shipping, lol). I am also going to test the Sin Five, the Black Label Rabbit rechargeable version, the Revel Body, The Fun Factory Big Boss, Jopen Vanity Vr12, Jopen Key Vela, Jopen Envy 3 and any others I have that I've missed.

Granted this may take a little while, but I am doing it for science, lol! Well, I am doing it for every person who has suffered through waiting too damn long to charge a vibe they have already been waiting for days to receive! You want to use it NOW, not in 16+ frickin' hours! Especially after paying $200 for the Stronic for example! Wish me luck! I will probably post here, and/or a new topic as well to get the most people to see it.

Here's a nice, easy to understand explanation of the difference between using a USB port on your computer and the wall (or car) adapter charger!

and another one.

Yes I do! And I also have a first generation Click'N'Charge flat shaped magnetic charger -- Wicked Wahine believes it's supposed to charge slightly faster than the dome-shaped ones.
