Hello,
I saw a photo which showed a Hitachi head that was very yellow and older looking. I'm wondering is this common? If so can the head be replaced? Is there anything that can prevent this from happening?

Since the motors on these last for decades, it's not surprising if the heads eventually look old. Lots of people cover them with an off with their head, which is silicone and can be sterilized: link

You can also cover the head with a Tenga Egg. Eventually, as Hitachi lasts so damn long, the plastic will yellow.

We've had ours for 2 years and the head has sort of turned blue. Why, I'm not sure, because we don't store it in anything blue, but we do remove it from time to time and wash it very thoroughly, then let is air-dry.
