The Hitachi Magic Wand is a powerful muscle massager that doubles as an external vibrator. It has deep, rumbly vibrations to stimulate the clitoris and vulva or the outside of the anus. Since it is plastic and cannot be completely sterilized, I would recommend using it for only one or the other, or using a dental dam to keep the Wand from coming in direct contact with your skin.

The baseball sized head is not made for penetration so you cannot use this toy for vaginal or anal but there are attachments made for insertion which you can buy if you'd like to use your Hitachi to stimulate you internally.

Not only is the Hitachi excellent for using alone, it is also very effective for using during intercourse (or having your partner use it on you!).

I personally found this to be a wonderful toy for gender play because I am FtM and sometimes have trouble climaxing due to dysphoria, but holding onto the long handle of the Hitachi and working it like a penis was a very effective and satisfying way of masturbating for me.

The Hitachi is very simple to use. Plug the power cord into the wall and then flip the switch midway down the toy to either "high" or "low". Pressing lightly toward the opposite side will bring the switch back to the middle, turning it off.

If it's your first time using something as powerful as the Hitachi, you will definitely want to start out on the lower setting and then turn it up if that's not strong enough for you.

Even on the lower setting, it is still very strong and pretty loud. This is not a toy for everyone. If there is someone in the next room or your house has walls so thin you can hear someone walk around on the other side of it, you may not want this toy unless you plan on using it only when nobody is home.

Since it gets power from an outlet, this toy will never run out of batteries or charge and die during use.

Made of plastic, this toy is compatible with any type of lubricant.

It can be washed with a toy cleaner such as Swiss Navy, carefully washing in the sink, using a baby wipe, or toy wipes from EdenFantasys. This one cannot go in the dishwasher and you do not ever want to get water inside of it because of the motor, so take care to keep that in mind while cleaning.

The cardboard box you get your Hitachi in may not be optimal to you if you prefer a sturdier storage solution. It is pretty discreet however and could be stored in a closet or dresser drawer if you're not worried about someone coming across it.

The Hitachi Magic Wand comes in a cardboard box about the size of the Hitachi itself and oblong with the wand just barely fitting into it. The company used a very minimal amount of packaging. The box is white with colored photographs of people using the Hitachi as a massager. No mention is made of its use as a sex toy.

The box may look inconspicuous because of all the innocent photographs, but it does blatantly advertise the product so anyone who is familiar with the Hitachi will know what it is right away. The cardboard is also not a good long term storage solution, though it will be fine temporarily.

The instructions do not include mention of using the Hitachi on the genitals, but the same safety precautions occur so just follow the instructions and you will be fine.

If you find the Hitachi is too intense for you to use, you may want to try putting on a pair of panties, pajama pants, or a blanket and then use the Hitachi by putting it on the other side. If it is still too intense, you can try further muffling the vibrations by using it through a pillow.

This is a strong toy, but that means that even if you need to use something in between, you can make it work for you. Every now and then, I have a really cold morning in bed when I am horny from a dream, but too chilly to get out of bed. This is my new go-to toy for that.

I found that it was indeed very powerful as I had heard, but that I was able to handle it on low. Even though it was stimulating such a large area rather than a concentrated point, I found that to be a benefit rather than a drawback.

I would say having that much stimulation was a bonus for me because I often have a difficult time climaxing with vibrators and this one was straightforward and worked very well in a short amount of time.
