How long do your vibrators last?

Contributor: irishlove irishlove
I haven't ventured too deep into toys, I'm slowly working my way

My first major vibrator that I actually really love is a Neon Vibe. I don't believe Eden has it on the site. I got it in July of 2011 and recently it's been rattling really loudly and the vibration isn't as strong. It hasn't been used a whole lot in the last year. I was going through some hormonal changes and had no sex drive...that explains my absence from this site as well. With that being said, is 2.5 yrs a good life span for a vibrator? Even with it being used very little for a year.

also look at how many minutes of use each time you used it. I think it's good for a vibe to function well for 1 year. any use after that is counted as a plus & extra. my reasoning: most warranties even offered w/ a product are limited to 1 year.

I have had mine for the passed year and I use it all the time and it still works like new.

Maybe I'm a lucky minority but I've never had a vibe simply die on me. My Cal-Exotics glow bullet is probably at least over 5 years old and in perfect working condition.

Truthfully we have never broken one yet and we do put work in with our toys. Here's the thing though... You get what you pay for. Typically the more expensive the toy the better it is made the longer it lasts.

We love our Rabbit and all of our rocks off toys. The rocks off toys are a bit cheaper than the rabbit but they seem to really be holding up.

Mine barely last past a few months, but I also tend to get cheep ones, and put them through a lot of use.

Just like the others have stated, it depends on the quality of the vibrator. Some are better than other and price is not always the determining factor. But I would say you are about right 2 1/2 years with regular use. After that time some will start to show signs of slowing.

all of mine are still going, and it's been 2-3 years since I bought them I think? it's a combination of the quality of the toy and how well you treat it.

We got a cordless Hitachi Wand from Eden in March 2014. It stopped taking a charge just this weekend. So this one only lasted 3 months. I sent in a support ticket to see if any warranty. It came in a shipping bag w/o a box or anything. Maybe it was a return from someone else.

We have a 2+ yr old Jopen that still works well.

I doubt it was a return, but just so you know, all Eden Brand toys come in a plastic bag, with no packaging.

You should write a review and mention it crapping out on you, or put a comment on the product page! Warn people!

I started buying toys about three years ago and so far only a couple have died on me. One was a cheap bullet I bought on another web site, it was defective and died after a few uses. I was able to get a replacement. The replacement did the same thing, so I got a refund. I got a Lelo Nea from another web site that died in five months. It was still under warranty, so I got that replaced free of charge. Everything else is still going strong.

It's deceiving or at least deceived me. This wand that stopped working after only 3 months says "Hitachi STYLE Wand." Needless to say we need to be more careful. The reviews were great and I thought it was the Hitachi brand. There is no name or manufacturer on it.

The product page shows the manufacturer as Eden Toys, so I don't think they were trying to pass it as actual Hitachi brand, but more comparing it to the iconic, real deal.

Yeah, I have to be more careful and stick to the name brands from now on. On the search page it said Hitachi STYLE Wand. I was probably in a rush to buy it. Anyway it should have lasted more than 3 months. I'll try to open it and see if I can replace the rechargeable battery. That seems to be the problem, but just guessing. She just stick to her old faithful corded authentic Hitachi super wand.

Can't tell. I charge it overnight twice and it barely putters. I'm still trying to get the darn thing open. Already removed all the screws but it is not separating at its seams. I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Wow, this the the most loaded question all day! I have had vibes that fell apart out of the box or on the first use. I have had others that I think I got in 1970's and are still working! Price often has little to do with it either. I think it is luck, above all!!!

I would say so, however it really depends. I've had vibes break within a month and others last at least 5 years. I take really good care of my sex toys and I haven't had very many problems with motors petering out on me. That being said, rattling does not sound good. If the toy is getting really hot during play you might want to consider retiring it out from your collection. On the other hand, it could just be a tiny piece of plastic that came loose rattling around. Either way be careful.
