Massagers...the point is?

Aren't massagers big and bulky and corded (in many cases..?) I just don't see the draw there...but they are always all over the forums, so I was just wandering what all the hype is about! Someone make me fall in love with them!

Constructive discussions on Wand massagers:

What's your favorite toy
What is your absolute favorite toy? Mine would have to be my fairy wand. Man does that thing pack a punch.

Could the Bloomy prostate massager be used as a g-spotting toy?
Just wondering. Looks like a lot of fun but I don't know how it would work for someone with a shallow g-spot

I personally am not especially fond of them, but the big draw for most fans is their sheer power. It's pretty hard to make a battery-operated or rechargeable vibrator that's as strong as a plug-in vibe. They can also work great if you're a fan of broad stimulation as opposed to something more concentrated. Incidentally, there are some massagers that are fairly small and/or don't have a cord, though my understanding is that (predictably) they tend not to be as strong as a result.

I say they're worth a try, if nothing else. Probably the best starting point would be to visit a sex shop and see if they have some you could turn on (most places will at least have a Hitachi), or get a strong back massager from a pharmacy.

I've always been totally turned off by massagers as sex toys. They are big, bulky, mostly not cute or pretty, some are downright ugly, and none are sexy, and they don't seem terribly ergonomic in most cases. BUT, that said, I think the appeal, besides, as Rin says, that cordless vibes just can't rival their power, is that they don't look like sex toys. If anyone ever sees it, you could always just say, "Oh, that's my massager. For my muscles. Not a sex toy. Nooooooo, I don't use that on my clit! Silly rabbit, massagers are for...backs and... things..." And no one would be the wiser, unless of course you did say it like that, which would totally give it away, but you get my drift. :-P Plus, you know, if they plug in, they will never run out of charge or need new batteries, so that's moderately convenient, or maybe at least counter balances the inconvenience of being tethered to a super-duper extra sexy wall outlet while you masturbate. Whoo-hooo. Who doesn't want that?

Someday I would like to try the Hitachi just to see what all the hype is about, but yeah, from what I hear, they pack quite a punch.

They are super strong and the most of the corded ones don't run out battery in the middle of using them
