Rechargeable Batteries: Yay or Nay?

Contributor: Ansley Ansley
I've read a couple of reviews that said rechargeable batteries didn't work in the toy purchased, can anyone explain to me why this happens? Is it possible to damage a toy if you use rechargeables?

I don't know the answer to this, but I only use rechargeable batteries and have not had any problems with any of the toys I own.

Sometimes rechargeables are slightly too big to fit into the toy.

I have no problems when using rechargeables myself. Definitely a lot easier than going out to buy batteries/order batteries with the toys all the time!

I've found that rechargeables have worked fine if regular AAs work.

Using rechargeables since High School - no problems yet. I still use the first set that came with a charger along with newer sets.

I found that rechargeable batteries did not work as well as regular batteries, back when I would use them. Now I only use rechargeable batteries if they come with the item.

I only have two toys that won't accept rechargeables and because I refuse to buy throw away ones and waste my money, I very rarely use those two toys.

My rechargeable batteries work the same (power wise) and last longer than regulars.

Rechargeable toys are so expensive. I haven't owned one yet, but if I got one and it didn't work, I would be so unhappy.
