Sizes of PC balls

I just skimmed through another review for Smart Balls, and was wondering.. what's best for PC exercise? Small balls, right? I assume, the smaller they are, the more effort you'd have to put into keeping them in.

Also, what about the ones that are loose? Is it a good idea to just put two random balls up there? Has anyone ever had a problem getting them/one out?

I have the Smartballs, as well as the Luna Beads by Lelo. The Smartballs aren't very small, and don't take much effort (if any) to keep in. Same goes for the Luna Beads (which are just a tad smaller than the Smartballs).

I also have glass ben wa balls, as well as tiny metal ones. I've never really had problems with the glass ones randomly falling out (the only ones to ever do that were the metal, since they're so small). Nothing can become "lost" in your vagina, since the cervix acts as a barrier to the rest of your reproductive system. To take the loose ben wa balls out, all I do is squat or lay down and hook them with my finger (one at a time) to remove them.

[I have this philosophy that if you aren't willing to stick a finger up yourself to remove them, you really shouldn't be putting them in your vagina in the first place.]

Also, if you're having trouble getting the balls out, you can squat and bear down to "push" them out a little more.

Personally, I'd use something with a string, since it's hard for me to pop things in to my vagina in the first place.

Hmm.. yeah, I don't think I'd have a hard time getting them out, I'm just curious if anyone else has had issues with it.

I currently have a pair with a string link and was mostly curious about the loose ones.

The big ones are designed to work in a completely different way than the small ones. The small ones strengthen your vaginal muscles by requiring clenching to keep the balls in place. The big ones stimulate your muscles by rubbing up against them and giving them something to react to.

I think that both methods are effective, but it's like comparing apples and oranges. Think of it as the difference between doing push-ups and lateral presses on a weight machine. Both work your arms, but you're going about it in very different ways.

Ohh.. that makes sense now. I like the balls I have, but it's not hard at all to keep them in, so I thought maybe they weren't doing anything for my muscles. That's very interesting, Lara, thank you!

Of course, the resistance to larger balls can really help muscle tone, so there are good reasons to use larger ones, like the Smart Balls. The balls also move around a little and getting to (or really learning to) make the ball bearings inside the balls move is GOOD exercise. I can see and feel the difference, even with larger balls like the Smart Balls. I grasp the first ball (the one without the loop attached) and push it in, to near the place where you would put a tampon, so it is behind the first set of muscles, while "fighting" it during penetration. Then I kind of push the second ball in (which is easy, because they are well connected) and then ONLY insert the second ball (the one WITH the Loop) until it only goes in far enough to keep my Labia Minora (inner lips) open, so it is half in and half out. It is a good vaginal muscle workout.

I, personally, don;t feel a benefit to only "keeping the balls in" if they are little, as the main point IS PC muscle exercise. From what I experience, resistance against the balls and against them and using the balls for vaginal massage are both good things to use them for. You can also pull on the loop, and try to keep the balls in, to help make your muscles more powerful. Also, you can FEEL the Smart Balls, and they are stimulating. Also, You do Kegals, while the balls are in your vagina. (Ask me for Kegal instructions if you don't know how to do this.)

I don't know how people can go out while using these, I get too turned on and usually end up having to finish myself up when I exercise with them.

Of course, masturbating to orgasm is good exercise, too.

I think a woman's individual anatomy has a lot to do with this. There's also considering the outcome you're ultimately trying to achieve. For example, I personally prefer the smaller ones. I have the tiny Ben Wa Balls and the standard glass ones as well. My ex preferred the larger balls. We both wanted to strengthen our muscles. I seemed to concentrate more on holding them in while she was more into pushing against the weight. We alternate occasionally, but have our own preference as to what exercises we like.

All in all, it's basically about what works best for your body and feels best for you. It's something you can't really go wrong with as long as you purchase a quality product.

I personally am not having any luck with the original Smart Balls (2 balls connected) or with the Emigi (slightly similar to the Smart Balls but smaller and shorter) - they keep slipping out. I have no problem exercising with the Teneo Uno (single ball) or the Crystal Egg (single ball) - they never slip out unless I retrieve them. Maybe I have a very tilted uterus?

I wonder the same thing, about the size of the balls.
