Vibrator = Desensitization?

Contributor: QueenBee8 QueenBee8
My friends and I have been debating whether or not it is a good idea to indulge in a vibrating toy for solo play. They feel that they're too powerful and will cause you to become desensitized to the point where manual play will not be efficient enough on its own. Any ideas?

That's what I believe...that's why I prefer to use vibrating/non-vibratin g toys alternately, and it keeps my sensitivity level normal; I only set my vibrators' vroom level at a medium range, never all the way up.

I don't beleive it for a moment.

This is going to sound horrible, but I really don't like when I use my fingers to masturbate. I've terrible cuticles and no matter how hard I try I cannot keep them smooth. So I use toys.

And lots of toys that vibrate.

When I am with a man who actually will use his fingers or lips or tongue on my clit.... my body responds well. It's like anyone can make a sandwich, but a sandwich will always taste better when someone else makes it.

I don't believe it for a moment either. I can use the strongest vibes out there and turn around and use no vibrations to still get off the same.

I have never been able to get off from just my fingers (on my clit, at least), so I pretty much always use a vibrator for external stimulation. But I really think this is a myth. I've actually noticed that I can orgasm more easily now; when I first started using toys, I needed the most powerful vibrations possible, and now average strength is fine.
