Erectile Dysfunction Options

So I was looking around and notice there's not much talk about Erectile Dysfunction and thought I'd bring it up. I'm not really asking a question here so much as trying to make a place for people to get answers about this issue.

A little background on my situation. I'm currently 24 old and had been struggling with ED ever since I got married (I think it was there before hand as well but it didn't matter then). It wasn't like it was impossible to get an erection but as soon as I stopped simulating I would start to loose my erection. This made it very hard to get my penis inside my wife's vagina. My wife also struggled with vaginismus which made this difficult since I needed to insert my penis quick while my wife needed me to take it slow. This continued to for a little under 2 years. I finally started to figure out something was wrong with my penis and ended up going to a urologists to see what was up. He said I had ED and put me on Cialis. The pills helped with the erection issue but they gave me REALLY bad headaches. There was another type I think it was one you were supposed to take everyday that was a lower dose that still worked pretty good and I only had to take it when needed and it still worked pretty good but still had a bit of a headache from it. I hated having to take the pill before having sex not like it was a big thing but it was just one more thing to get in the way when you're already in the mood. I asked to try Viagra to see how I would react to it. I don't remember exactly how it was. I think the headache wasn't as bad and I still had a good erection. Again I still didn't like having to deal with the pills though. Then I started running out of the samples and went to go get refills. 3 Viagra pills was like $50 I think which was a huge whoa moment. I might actually be limited in how often I could have sex by how much money we have. I did more research. I'm a member over at the Marriage Bed link. They have a lot of good information on ED. Basically they said that ED can be caused by low testosterone levels. I went to my primary care practitioner to have my testosterone level checked. When I got the results back he said they were normal the thing is my level was 254 while the range I believe is like 250-800 so I was extremely low (around what a 90 year old guy should be at not a 24 year old). I set up an appointment with a naturopath doctor as I'd read on the other forum that a lot of times doctors won't give you testosterone supplements with someone at my level. The naturopath took a look at the results and wrote me a prescription. Instead of prescribing something like Androgel which is not actually testosterone but just very similar he put me on actual testosterone which is made from plants is identical to what your body produces. You see I was worried that the testosterone would make it difficult for my wife and I to have a baby when the time came. The doctor explained that is only the case for someone like a weight lifter who takes huge amounts or it. This was quite a relief.

So the results? Within a few weeks I was already seeing a difference. Getting erections was easier. What really helped a lot too was I started doing a simple cardio work out in the morning 5-7 days a week. With these two combined I've noticed a huge change and no longer have any ED.

Erectile dysfunction is a sexual dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. A few causes of Erectile Dysfunction or Impotence may be due to some disease like stress, diabetes, heart problem, or may be come from awful relationship with your partner.

This definitely needs to be "bumped." I was wanting to start a poll asking if anyone here had ED, so I went searching to see if discussions had already been made. I don't see much talk about it here, either, strangely, but would like to. I may make a poll since there isn't one & perhaps link this to it so maybe people will see it & come here to talk.

Thanks for this information, something we will certainly be looking into ourselves Was not aware there was even a naturopath doctor. Hubby will be looking into the Marriage Bed as you suggested.

The best exercises you can do to increase blood flow directly to your crotch are Kegel exercises. Google might give you a ton of examples of those but for women. But they're also tons of them for men out there.

The latest treatment for ED is extracorporeal Low Intensity Shock Wave Therapy (LI-SWT).

Basically you get your dick zapped with strong sound waves. It's suppose to break up micro-plaque in your veins and cause new blood vessels to form. There is some evidence to an increase in penis size, but not enough evidence to make a big deal of it.

This is a legit therapy approved for use in the US and Europe. High intensity shock wave therapy has been used to treat kidney stones. The LI-SWT is used for both ED and Plantar Fasciitis. It has been studied by NIH and others and is approved - but most insurance companies do not cover it.

Typically it costs about $4k for 6-12 treatments.
