i know a girl who had the implant administered, but they did it incorrectly and implanted it in her muscle instead of right under the skin. she wound up being hospitalized with a bad infection and needed surgery. before you get the implant, ask how often they do it and how comfortable they are.

I had issues on both depo (used for 2 years) and nuvaring (used for 7 months) so I got fed up and got a Paragard, the non-hormonal IUD, and I will never recommend hormonal birth control to anyone again unless they can't use a non-hormonal method or need hormones for medical reasons, like endometriosis.

I'm on the mini pill (progestin-only pill). I can't take any method that involves estrogen because I have a history of migraines and it puts me at a higher risk for stroke or something. It works great though! You have to be very exact with it because it only has a three hour window of time to take but I've never had a problem with that. The side effects are pretty minimal too.

I have three kids and I'm over 40 so I decided to go the permanent route with my birth control. Neither of my partners wants more children so it seemed the best answer since I really, really hate being pregnant. Love being a Mom but hate the whole natural process to achieve that! We decided we would foster or adopt if we had the urge to parent again.

I chose the Essure implant which completely blocks the fallopian tubes without cutting off blood supply and injuring the ovaries. It's the only 100% system when it works and my implant worked like a charm. I totally recommend it if you are looking for permanent control.

I love a man who thinks this way Sigel had a vasectomy to prevent me from having to have abdominal surgery and Arch was trying to do the same but his family doctor prevented him because he's catholic (both the Dr. and Adam are) so while he is STILL waiting two years later I took care of the problem.

Gotta love the guys who are willing to take the bullet for their women.

I'm on the Depo shot. I get it once every 12 weeks and then in between I can have all the sex I want and not have to remember to take a pill or put a ring in or anything like that.
I can't even remember to take my vitamins in the morning, so this is really the best option for me.

~ have the paragaurd iud copper no hormones and its the 10-12 year one! I have had it for 4 years already and I love it! I have never had any issues. I chose it due to the fact that I was still nursing my 6 month old and I'd not want hormones in my body~

Condoms, the pill, and the fact that I only have sex for two weeks out of the year (when I visit my man!).

I take the pill religiously. When my boyfriend and I settle down and stuff, I might stop taking the pill and just use condoms but that wont be too soon.

I got my tubes tied so I am good, but in the past I had the noraplant in my arm back when it first came out. It worked fine, but getting them out was not easy because they had inbeded themselves in my arm good. I have a nice scar from it. I also used the depo shot and that worked good also I was on that for 3 years and the first shot I had a period for 3 months then after that I did not have one again. I loved that!
