Orgasm during child birth

Contributor: Ansley Ansley
So I have a question for all of those are saying things like "orgasms from birth are disgusting or wrong" would you say the same thing to a woman who had an orgasm while being raped?

An orgasm is a physical response to stimulation. Stimulation is defined:

: to excite to activity or growth or to greater activity : animate, arouse
: to function as a physiological stimulus to
: to arouse or affect by a stimulant (as a drug)

It's a transitive verb, meaning from one state to another...we have always associated it with being a positive thing but it can be just that - a process. It doesn't mean that a woman is going in there thinking, "yay I'm about to push an 8 pound fetus out of my vagina, bring on the orgasms! No dildo could compare to this!"

(Yes, I know it's an automatic default "you lose" if you mention Hitler on the internet in an argument but....)

Hitler was a great man, he did great things. The eleventh definition is the one most commonly used, but it is not the first, nor the only meaning of great. Great does not necessarily equate good.

So it just very well might be that a woman is flooded with a euphoria of chemicals during childbirth to help her bond with her child just as she does during an orgasm with her partner to solidify their pair-bonding.

It makes perfect sense, in my head at least. When a baby is vaginally delivered, it's hitting ALL of those spots we typically associate with sexual pleasure. An orgasm does not always mean you're clawing at the walls and screaming out in ... more
Wow that's very informative!
