Menstrual cups (not caps*) are bell-shaped cups that are inserted vaginally to collect menstrual blood, rather than absorb it. Many are made of silicone and meant to be washed and reused, but there are also disposable varieties made of flexible plastic.

(*though incidentally, there is such a thing as a cervical cap that's used as a form of birth control)

i used to wear pads around the house and tampons when i actually left the house, but for the last year i have been using the lunette menstrual cup and i love it! i enjoy having to only empty it twice daily and not worrying/thinking about it. not to mention avoid an awkward mess when you get period poops.
I have given thought to making or investing in some cloth pads/liners for my lighter days since my period essentially non-existent during those days.

I only use tampons. I've been thinking about trying a cup, but I'm so clumsy and I can just see blood being spilled everywhere...

I am all diva cup all the time lately. Occasionally I like the feeling of free-bleeding, but my flow is heavy, so I use cloth pads for that. So cheap, and I feel really in tune with my body this way.

Softcups, tampons, pads, AND liners, though obviously not all at once. It just depends on how heavy my flow is and whether I'm working or staying home.
