Breaking the seal is easy, it's not dropping the damn thing into the toilet that gets tricky.

To break it, just pinch at the bottom and twist very slightly and pull down.

I just read the BEST tip in another thread: Clean it and reinsert it in the SHOWER!!!! Already water running, if it drops, you just pick it up (not fish it out *gag*), and when you come out of the shower you are clean and plugged up and you don't have any drips to collect as you get out of the shower and and can clean up perfectly!

I'm even MORE excited!

Awesome! I'm excited for you! It really is a good tip, though it wouldn't have worked for me personally. I usually shower before bed or after work, not before.

I'm a SAHM so getting in the shower twice a day is NBD.

Ah that's awesome! I'm a stay at home wife and it's just easier for me to grab a pad and go.

When I was using the diva cup, I was in bed at midnight and up and out the door by 6:30 AM. I'm so not a morning person, there was no way I was hopping in the shower.

One thing I am interested in knowing, if you remember to think about it, is if your natural lubrication increases while you're using it. Even though my mind was being perfectly mundane and not thinking about sex in anyway, having something in my vagina seemed to kick the lube factory into overdrive.

I hate tampons but ill use them if i really need to be careful. Im honestly fine with toilet paper as gross as it may sound. but pads are most comfortable for me now. On depo provera i didnt have my period for the past 3 years so having it now, i just cant stand using tampons.

why would tp be gross? feminine products aren't sterile anyway, and can be pretty gross when they fail.

I'm all for disposable pads. It just seems easier.

I'm definitely more grossed out by rinsed out reusable pads in the laundry needing to be washed then a garbage bag of disposables chilling in the bathroom. If it were only my pads it wouldn't be an issue, but there are lots of girls in this house so it's not something I'd be pleased with.

I might have to check out this Diva Cup business...at least once. Disposable pads gross me out. Not like tampons are much better either. Whatever I gotta' do.

I love my Diva Cup! I haven't tried reusable pads yet, but I'd like to.

I use pads. i cannot for the life of me walk around in a tampon. It's almost painful. :/

I use disposable tampons & pads. But mostly tampons, pads are for nighttime on the two nights my flow is heavy.

I went a long while without using pads at all, but then after my LEEP in Nov. last year... it was all I could use for a while, so pads were normal. The nighttime pads feel like diapers, but they were a lifesaver sometimes.

I've considered other options, but I am so clumsy that I can't see myself using the Diva Cup correctly without constant spilling and messes.

It's honestly not that messy. I'm super clumsy, and honestly, it's MUCH less messy than pads and even less messy than tampons.

Plus, in the morning, I *NEVER* have to do the "Oh CRAP" backwards shuffle off the bed to avoid spillage.

I have Diva cups but was never patient enough to get it working properly. I'm stuck with using disposable pads.

There is a learning curve to using a cup, but you shouldn't let it discourage you if you want to try it. In my experience the cup is no more likely to cause a mess than using tampons and since it is changed in the shower or over the toilet even if you do spill it shouldn't be too much of a mess.

I thankfully no longer have to worry about that. I have endometriosis and I have to get a shot to stop the endo from growing and it lessens the pain. No periods ever! I have a tiny bit of spotting every once in a blue moon and I definitely know when it's that time because I get the endo pain a little and very ill and hungry.. like now. But that's about all I have to worry about.

Since I do get some extreme pain due to the endo, I will take pain meds for it when needed.

I use mostly disposable tampons now because my flow is suddenly so heavy, but I prefer my sponge instead.

I use disposable pads, I'm terrified of tampons. I think I would like to try a menstrual cup, it sounds loads better once you get the hang of it. Heck, if nothing else I'd learn to use one just for swimming; I nanny over the summer and the kids want to swim allllll the time.
