I have a long list of 'should've seen's' by now. I live in NJ but I'm only 40 minutes out of the city so I really have no great excuse to have never seen things like the Empire State Building. But on the other hand, I've seen the outside of it and the whole going to the top thing just doesn't thrill me.

Gleeful responses are right up there, but I have a special fondness for ecstatic ones. And even breathless, totally-wrung-out ones. But probably not from the sales reps. During business hours.
Lol... good point.

Ya, my fiance just reads my books too. Which works out just fine, because I've got a decent collection going, lol

Sadly, in my piles and piles of books from Cleis Press, I do not have this one. Sad because I am almost guaranteed to love it. Will have to pick it up sooner or later, I think.

That's funny- I've lived here my whole life and I don't know how to pump gas. I'm sure I could figure it out if I had to, but I've never had to. And I've driven all over (Tennessee, Massachusetts, Indiana) and never actually had to do it for myself.

Ooohh! The Heathman actually has its own library. You can "check out" books during your stay and order them when you make your reservation so they'll be waiting for you. I know they have a couple of Susie Brights titles... I meant to find out how you get added to the library! (They get the books from Powell's.)

Actually, that's true of my current PGW rep in western MA, but we remain platonic buddies. And I order my own books for my stores directly from the publisher.

LOL I ran into this in Oregon a few years back and I was totally confused. I got out and tried to pump my own gas and got yelled at. I'm like...why can't I pump my own gas, this is retarded! In Kansas, you don't GET gas if you don't pump it yourself. There are no full-service stations left that I know of.

I didn't know there were still full service gas stations in the US.

By my grandparent's old place in New Hampshire there was a full service station that they'd always make me stop at if I was driving one of them in their cars. Drove me nuts. Oh! And there's at least one in Connecticut. I stopped there in March, lol

Yup, it's illegal in NJ as well. It really freaks people out but until I was of driving age, I didn't know pumping it yourself anywhere was even an option.

I live in NYC, and it's about 50/50 here, self-serv or full-serv.

I must admit, I prefer full service. Maybe it comes from spending so much time in Jersey?

In Texas, you can pump your own gas, you just have to pay first

I never had to pump my own gas until I went on a road trip from California to NY... I had to ask someone in Nebraska what to do, and he looked at me like I'd grown two extra heads and was speaking Japanese!

To this day (I'm 28 and pretty well traveled) I've never had to. When I went to TN, my husband took care of it, and anywhere I've gone before that or after that, I either found someplace that offered full service or just asked a stranger to do it for me.
