A good condom for anal? Ribbing or no ribbing?

Contributor: BAC BAC
My wife enjoys anal sex from time to time, and I've been wondering about including a condom for our anal fun so that I can switch from anal to vaginal and be able to remove the condom at that point to prevent any transference of bacteria. My doubt is about what kind of condom might be the best for that. I see a lot of nice ribbed condoms, but would the ribbing be uncomfortable for anal?

I think comfort level will depend upon your wife's preference and experience level with anal sex. Some people enjoy pretty extreme textures with anal sex. A beginner I would suggest stay with smoother textures. Regardless, I would think the ribbing present on a condom is going to be mild at best, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you're unsure, start with plain condoms and slowly try to work up to ribbed.

I've never used one so I don't know how much texture they actually add, but for me anal sex is intense enough on it's own and I think adding a ribbed condom might be a little too much.

Can't talk about condoms in particular, but from my toy experience smooth is definitely better until you're more experienced. I'd imagine this is true for condoms as well.

I never received myself but my girl doesn't seem to care what type of condom that is used. However I use a barely there condom from Trojan that allows me full pleasure without any risk to her.

Thank you all for your impute. I guess we'll experiment with regular and maybe ribbed to see what feels better.

I was going to say the same thing. If she only enjoys it "from time to time," definitely go with plain.
