Functionality first, then size, then style! Well...cost can be a factor too.

For me the toy has to have a FUNCTION I want and then be the right size (or it's a no go)...one reason I love the EF size viewer.

After that, DURABILITY as seen in the reviews count.

Color, style...etc? Not so much. Who is going to "see it" in use, unless it is like a transparent toy, where the user is enjoying the view as he/she uses it on the other partner.

Those pretty jewels on the ends of a couple of my glass and metal anal plugs are sure not there for MY viewing pleasure....but my hubby sure thinks they make my tushy look "tasty"!!!

Function and size, mostly. Cost is secondary, so is style/color.

Function is the first thing I look at, and then research into the durability of it before I make a final decision. But of course, these are all factors to make the decision in the end.

I look into all of them, in this order:
Durability (material, waterproof)
Size (will it work with my body)
Functionality (does it do what I require)
Cost (is it a good price: high enough to be good quality, low enough that I don't think it's too much)
Style (by this point there's only a few options, choose what's best for me)

All of these factors come into play for me. I want to know the ABCs and ins and outs of a toy before making a purchase. A lot of the better toys aren't exactly cheap, so I don't want to be throwing away my dough for junk. That being said, a lot of what goes into my buying is pure curiosity. I love toys of all shapes and sizes, and am always looking for that next new toy that does something no other toy can.

When I choose a sex toy, its not for me, its for my partner so I tend to look at everything from how bix it is, material, reviews. I love videos because it shows the toy being held by someone so you can see more of how flexible it is and they explain the pros and cons.

functionality over anything

Functionality is my primary concern because I need something that'll rock my world, not just "get the job done." Secondary concern is price. If I can't afford it, why even bother thinking about it? (Thank God for points, though...)

This is the method I use. It's foolproof!

Step 1: Look at my wish lists, sigh over all the toys I want, and wonder how the hell I'll make up my mind.

Step 2: Look in the Naughty Drawer and try to decide what there's a shortage of.

Step 3: Feel guilty that there aren't more toys for men. Resolve to put on a nice show for the bf with the toys I'll buy for myself to make it up to him.

Step 4: After narrowing down to a type of toy, go through that category on Eden, adding 12 more items to the wish list on the way.

Step 5: Check the number of Eden Points I have.

Step 6: Narrow down the items I'm considering and make a forum poll about it.

Step 7: End up picking the one that looks the prettiest.

I consider all of them, but style seems to be the least important to me over the rest.

I look at functionality first and materials then I look at the cost and compare the ones I've found that suite my wants.

Functionality comes before everything else...except on the rare occasion that something is so cute that I simply MUST have it. Haha.

I definitely have never thought about buying toys as a process for me to follow. I would say function is the first thing I look at. Then I look at reviews to see how reliable it is. Cost is often the deciding factor.
