Last night I had a bad reaction to a warming lubricant. I put two drops on before I masturbated and luckily I never had the lube inside of me. But when I started rubbing the warming sensation turned into a severe burning sensation. It was horrible, I was in the bathroom for an hour running cool water over myself. I have definitely learned my lesson when it comes to the amount I should use. Has anyone else had a burning reaction to a warming lube? And what did you do?

I stay away from lubes that are purported to "do" anything. I don't like "warming" "tingling" "cooling" or flavored lubes. They all burn me and cause infections.
I like a lube with as few ingredients as possible. Something simple from Sliquid is what we use. I actually prefer their old formula, but they changed it, and the "more natural" version of their lubes actually cause more burning in me than the old stuff. Can't get the old stuff, sadly.
I'd stay away from lubes with glycerine, parabens and those that do anything other than lubricate. It isn't worth the pain.
I hope you feel better.

We haven't had a reaction personally but I have heard of others having a bad time with warming gels, enhancers, and similar potions, especially ones containing menthol. Very important to read & research ingredients and do a small spot test.
Dawn did a review where she had a similar experience here. It was a foaming cleanser, but still.
Hope you're feeling better!

I avoid anything with irritating ingredients. Prevention is much less painful than having to sit on an ice pack for a couple days. The idea of putting menthol or any other "warming" ingredient does NOT appeal to me in the slightest.

Yes, we tried one once that burned both of us terribly. Very uncomfortable and nearly ruined both of us sexually for the night! Now we just steer clear of those.

I haven't had that kind of reaction before.. I'm sorry you had to endure that..

I stopped using any warming/cooling lubes, fearing for bad reactions.

No warming, cooling or flavored lubes for us - lube is best when it's just lube!

I have a warming lube and like it... just a little warming sensation and then just lubey. That really stinks that it burned you!
05/19/2012
Nah, and W/we never tried any.

I think they should make ALL lubes if possible with out glycerine and parabens! The company should know by now they cause infections so why continue to make them with those ingredients?

These are cheap ingredients to make semifluids slick. Sad, isn't it?

Also, some people aren't bothered by these ingredients, I am, but not everyone is. So many people love Maximus or Pink Water, but with the glycerine and parabens, I'm not going near them.

Yes I have bad reaction to all warming lubes. I don't use or try new ones at all anymore. It's not worth it.

I've had burning from one, because of an allergic reaction, not because it was "too hot" or it warmed up too fast or anything.

Same as Jmex-I have had a bad reaction to it, but nothing like burning hot or anything. I have had some make me feel really itchy too, and then it turns all inflamed and gross down there . Needless to say, I won't be using that stuff again!

When I have used the heating or cooling lube, I have always used entirely too much LOL-So I am not sure why using too much in your case might have caused this issue. Maybe there is an ingredient in it that you are allergic to? Bad batch? I would call the company and inform them of what happened and give them the bottle number/bar code. Never know!

Warming lubes (and cooling/tingling ones for that matter) often make my entire penis go numb, which prevents me from being able to cum easily from regular stimulation
05/21/2012
I always have this reaction and I've used a few warming lubes.I think that they just don't go well with me.
05/21/2012
it burns for us every time we have tried it so we don't use any temperature or tingly sensation lubes.

I've had irritation to a ky warming one. I don't remember exactly which product it was, but I discontinued using it.

Mainly using Wet warming and no problems

I stay away from lubes that do extra stuff.
I like my lube plain and simple with no extra chemicals.
