It really depends on the toy, but if it's really bad or really great, I can generally tell from the first use. Some of the more unremarkable toys need a few tries to decide which way they may fall.

I try to give a toy several sessions before I write it off, not least because I've found new things I liked with toys. It takes a go or two to really process that you do, in fact, enjoy this new feeling, for me at least.

It depends a lot on the toy itself. Some of them are pretty straightforward and it's easy to tell if it's going to work out well or if the design is just not for me, but there have been a handful that I was skeptical of at first and then gradually warmed up to.

Usually I can but sometimes the first use of a toy is quite different from how it is on any subsequent use. I don't know why.
With Nobessence Seduction, my first two uses were very disappointing. I even considered selling it. But from the third use on, it's been heavenly. Who knows what was wrong during those first two times.

I generally have a good idea of whether I like it, but I like to use it quite a lot before I have a definite impression of the product. This goes for toys, bath and body products, pretty much anything I buy. I like to write short reviews for an online pharmacy, and I use the products extensively before submitting anything. The same goes for Eden.
