Just wondering if anyone ever feels guilty for masturbating?

I've been masturbating for several years now, but I always find myself feeling extremely guilty/ashamed afterward, so much so that sometimes I end up stopping halfway through. I chalk it up tot he fact that I went to Catholic schools for some 13 years and was raised in a family where sex was a taboo topic.

So, have you ever felt guilty for masturbating? How did you overcome those feelings?

I too am Catholic, but I have never felt guilty for masturbation. I've always considered it a natural urge, nothing to be ashamed of. Try not to blame outside influences for your feelings. No one can insult you - without your participation in being insulted - choose to ignore the slings and arrows that come your way and do what you think is right.

Enjoy your sexuality and leave the guilt trips to those that somehow enjoy or need them.

My husband works out of state, we see each other one weekend a month, so mastubration is huge for me since I need to get my rocks off when my husband isn’t here.

I don’t feel guilty about actually masturbating but not sending a picture or video to my husband because he’s always asking for them. I just feel that I wanna get off, I don’t wanna have to go through all the work of recording it or taking pictures and stuff.

I personally think of masturbation as of an advantage and an awesome alternative to my encounters with my wife, with whom we're apart every two weeks. Therefore, masturbation became just another routine activity. Each of us should be more flexible and indulge in self-love.

Not at all! It is completely natural. I understand coming from a family where sex was extremely taboo and having very mixed feeling about things like self exploration and masturbation. It takes time to become comfortable with something you aren't used to feeling ok about ( if that makes sense).

I have and I have no shame. My boyfriend does, and I could never shame him for it. We have insane work schedules and see for more than half an hour just about one day a week, and that's only because we live together and have one day off together which is normally filled with house work ( yay lol).

Every single person (excluding Asexual individuals) have sexual needs and desires and there is no reason to feel any sort of shame or guilt.

Hang in there, it'll take time to get over that feeling. But I believe in you

I've never felt guilty for masturbation.

I got my first vibrator when I was a teenagerSatisfying my sexual needs is just as normal as being human.

Your partner might also have an influence on you. If he/she is very conservative, you may feel the same .. Keep away from feeling guilty for your pleasure. It's just how you show love to your body
