Pets in the room?

Contributor: Noira Celestia Noira Celestia
I've never kicked pets out of the room (unless they were seriously getting in our face during sex which did happen once) but I do find it uncomfortable when our cats are in the room while we're having sex, because they seriously do stare at us and I wonder what they're thinking. Then I'm thinking more about the cats than the sex.

Me and my partner have that issue with our cat. She always wants to be around me or in the room I am in. We just ignore her now.

Nowadays, my dog has her own room (the downstairs half bath/laundry room) but she used to sleep in my room, in my bed with me. With an ex, we were living in an apartment with someone else, and I didn't have the option of exiling the dog from our room when we wanted to have sex (not that it was very often, he preferred watching porn to having sex with me ), but we would just put a blankie on the floor and tell her to lay on it.

It hasn't happened, mostly because I close and lock the door before I get to business. It would weird me out if my dog saw me, not because it would bother her, I just don't want to be seeing or thinking about my dog while doing anything sexual.

My little pomeranian will be in the room sometimes and just lays around and ignores us. My lab mix would be a total nuisance and we will not let her in the room or she would pester us. We have a baby gate to prevent my larger dog from getting into our room while we are not home and she will stare if the door is open and the gate is up, which really does bother me, it's just kinda awkward. So I just keep the door shut.

lol, that would be so awkward for me. It would feel as if they were watching even if they weren't.

I was masturbating not long ago and my cat jumped on the bed and watched me and ever put her paw on my shoulder like wtf are you doing are you okay. I was kinda into it so I did my best to ignore her. Not easy at all and it was weird. She hasn't been spayed yet or gone into heat but started acting all horny after that rubbing up against everyone. Idk if that did it or not but I just couldn't tell anyone hey it may have been her watching me that got her all freaky.

Well, our birds' cages are in the room, so, um yeah. They completely ignore us. Thank God.

Only has happened once and the next time we put the dog up.

Our rule is no pets in the bedroom when we play. They have run or the rest of the house, so they don't seem to mind.

Actually, this happened when I lost my virginity. My ex's roommate's very spazzy cat came on jumped on his back and enjoyed the ride for a minute. That continued for a lot of the time we were living there - the cat would get on someone's back, or would perch on top of the closet door and look insanely interested. His other cat used to get down in between the bodies of any cuddling pairs and look strongly disapproving. We used to joke that he was "making room for Jesus". My first cat hated my ex, and once as we were lying in bed after sex, ran up and bit him. Another time he tried to bite his penis under the sheets. Knowing what I know now, I should have let him

Now... my roommate's kitten jumped on my back when I was making out with someone, and one of my cats got right next to us and cried piteously until we stopped kissing and pet him instead. But I can't shut the cats out of the room, because the primary litter box, food, and water are in my bathroom, and they whine much, much louder if shut out. So... cat-less sex doesn't look likely to happen for me anytime soon.

My little PomChi sleeps in my room, but when I'm masturbating, she is nowhere near me or on my bed. She tends to sleep in her little doggie bed on the ground and burrows underneath a lot of her blankets.

It hasn't happened and it would bother me if it did so we usually shut the door during such times

We have a free range bunny in our bedroom (he's litter box trained like a cat - only is an 8 pound rabbit). I also have a couple of rabbits in cages.

The free range rabbit LOVES to get up on the bed and lay right beside me at bad times.....and it can be pretty interesting to be in the middle of foreplay and suddenly this 8 pound ball of fur jumps up on the bed to settle down.

The funniest thing though is when we're done and a couple of times I've rolled over to see the rabbits in cages periscoping (standing on their hind legs) and staring at us like "you are doing that SOOOO wrong!"

I used to have a dog that would cuddle with me at night and I got used to having her laying next to me while I played, so it really doesn't bug me to be honest.

I am okay with it! I tend to get busy in assorted rooms around the house so it's hard to avoid sometimes.

if the dog was actively watching, it'd be weird. if they're asleep, less weird.
