I am a huge fan of nice short acrylics. They must be kept up though.

If they are a normal length and don't contain jewels or over the top designs, I like them. I like fairly normal length French Tips. I hate the "Claw" look. I don't like jewels and stuff in people's nails, either. I don't know how people can get any work done with really long acrylics.

We saw a woman with 5 inch long acrylics and My Man said (when we got back to the car) "How the hell does that woman masturbate?"

If you take good care of them they can look great! But they are awful for your nails, maybe try a gel polish with a manicure treatment to help the health of your nails. And make sure you get all the nutrients you need, also biotin can help nail health

I don't believe in "skanky." It's supposed to mean both slutty & tacky, and I don't think "slutty" should be an insult.

I do think fake nails can be tacky, and I don't want to wear them myself. But they can be tastefully done.

I don't particularly care for them myself. I tend to like my nails short (I leave them unpolished unless it's a special event), so that I don't have to worry about messing them up during everyday activities.

i think it depends. long thick fake nails look kind of gross to me to be honest, but when they look more natural, I think that they're fine.

I don't think they are either.
and in most cases I think they're pretty gross, all those germs. Bleh.

I always think of my poor mother dealing with all the bad side-effects of her fake nails in the early 90's. It took her a while to grow her own natural nails after deciding to stop, the entire nail was such a peeling discolored mess!

Au natural all the way.
