Mxd, you made my day.
When I was on reddit semiregularly, a lot of guys were all "ewwwww labia are nasty and I don't like how big some girls' are."
And, I had never really noticed the variance in labia sizes (because I'm not attracted to girls so I don't tend to see a lot of them naked), but then I checked, and saw that mine are pretty big, and then I was all sad.
But then I realized that it was actually a good thing, because it's super-easy for me to stay lubricated during sex, and sex is super enjoyable, and if I had shorter labia maybe I would be annoyingly reliant on lube or something.
So I'm really glad to see that Mxd knows how the trend started so I can cast away that last little shred of feeling bad about my labia that I still hadn't shaken.
Thank you!

Aww, thank you. No matter what someone's genitals look like there will always be people out there who are really into it. And I think we just need to teach everyone that their genitals are awesome and that if someone else doesn't like them they aren't worth having sex with. At all.
There is a documentary that comes on Current tv about it. And there might be another one or two around the net.
The documentary actually showed a woman in her early 20s getting it done under a LOCAL. A freaking local anesthetic. And her reason for it was to "not gross guys out, and have them look 'neat and tidy," and I want to barf just thinking about it. Also, she had to go back and get the stitches taken out: NO LOCAL. Holy fudge, how is having your crotch look a certain way worth it? Do you really think that any guy that cares that much about what your vulva looks like really likes you as a person. And what about when you have kids?
And it's really scary to that AUS has a comparatively low rate of. . . "designer penises" (for the sake of not derailing the thread). And yet we are seeing an increase in designer vulvas because of porn trying to skirt laws, or just presenting what one director likes or thinks will sell.
And if one more person says that genitals should look "neat and tidy" I will. . . I don't know what will happen, but it will likely involve incoherent screaming that defeats the point of trying to form a coherent argument later. Genitals are these amazing, often times drippy things that totally look different from person to person. And the sooner we learn to accept that the better.
