Dirty minds - adult game discontinued by TDC Games Inc - review by The Awesome Penguin

The goal of this game is to have you (or your team) go around the board collecting cards which will eventually spell "D-I-R-T-Y" (with the '-' included). The way you go about collecting these cards is by solving riddles with up to three clues given to you. The catch is that the clues will make you think of a much dirtier answer, and you must come up with the clean solution that solves the riddle.

The audience for this game is anyone 18+ in my opinion. What's great is that the game makes you think of some dirty answers that are funny for the group of players to think about, but the game does not get dirtier than that. Therefore, you can play this game with a group of friends you are socially comfortable with and not necessarily sexually comfortable with.

The basic rules are simple: go around the board collecting cards by solving riddles and become the first player (or team) to collect cards which will spell out "D-I-R-T-Y". The included instructions are clear and short enough that each player should go ahead and read them before playing. After that, there is little confusion on how to play.

The amount of cards awarded is based off of how many clues you are given before correctly answering the question. For example, the first clue can be "I am long, hard & battery-operated." If you guess correctly, you can collect 3 cards. If not, the next clue would be, "I give off a steady stream." Again, if you guess correctly, you will now collect 2 cards. If not, the last clue is given: "People grope for me in the dark." If you now guess correctly (flashlight!) then you will collect 1 card.

The game itself is simple, yet fun. All of the 302 riddles are contained in 4 answers booklets. Therefore, you will need to split up into at most 4 teams. The game can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 45+ minutes.

The game comes with a board, a die, those mini-golf pencils, player pieces for the board, and the 4 riddle booklets. In my opinion, the board is more of an "extra" piece to the game and can be played (and more portable) without it.

As you go through the riddles, you are supposed to mark off which riddles you have completed. Therefore, the books will become marked up overtime and will eventually be near-useless. The only problem I have seen is that as you play with different groups of people, different groups know different answers and it is hard to find ones you all do not already know.
