Playful party straws - sex toy party ware by Cal Exotics - review by Breas

The Playful Party Straws by Cal Exotics arrive in a very simple package. The straws sit in a clear plastic package with a cardboard piece stapled at the very top. You can see the straws through the plastic so it’s not discreet at all.



The cardboard at the top of the package has a cartoon image of two females with drinks in their hand. The front of the cardboard piece also states the company and product name. The back of the cardboard piece has the same image and text as the front, and also states the company contact information, company website, and material of the straws. The packaging won’t work for storing the straws once you’ve opened it up.

The package includes 10 straws in total. There are 5 black coloured straws and 5 pink. The packaging states that the straws are made of polyethylene. According to Wikipedia, polyethylene is the most common plastic. I found a bit of contradicting information while I was searching about the material. One website stated that polyethylene is a “suspected human carcinogen”. A carcinogen is an agent that causes cancer. I had then looked at Cancer.org. I searched the page that states general information about carcinogens but didn’t find any information stating that polyethylene was a risk.

The plastic is quite thick, making the straws durable. The penis part of the straw is a bit thinner then the rest of the straw. They cannot be bent in half without potentially cracking them. I ended up bending one of the straws to see what would happen. While the first bend didn’t crack the straw, it left a permanent indent in it. I washed the straw I used before I used it. There wasn’t any taste from the straw but this could be because I washed it first (which I recommend doing).



There are seam lines running vertically down each side of the straws. The total length of each straw is approximately 7 ½ inches. The penis at the top of the straw is just less than 2 inches in length. The circumference of the straw, beneath the penis, is 1 3/8 inches. The shaft of the penis at the top of the straw has a circumference of 1 ¾ inches.

The diameter of the hole at the top of the straw is just a tad over 1/8 of an inch. The diameter of the hole at the bottom of the straw is just slightly over ¼ of an inch. The hole to this straw is much larger than your regular straw. This is nice because it allows the straw to be used for a wider variety of beverages. So the straw can be used for watery drinks or drinks that are much thicker than water (example: frozen alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks). They function perfectly; I didn’t have any issues with the straw when I used it to drink beverages.

Below is a size comparison photo of the party straws beside a straw for fountain drinks at a fast food restaurant (KFC to be exact). You can see that the party straws are a bit shorter but much thicker. I didn't have any issues with the length of these straws. You might run into a problem with their length if you’re trying to use them in extra large glasses/cups. I found them to be the perfect length for the cups we have in our home and perfect for 355mL cans of soda.



I purchased the straws to make little gift bags for a few people (and kept a couple for myself). I plan on separating the straws into groups of two. Each group will have one black and one pink straw. I plan on tying a bow out of ribbon around them. These straws will make great gifts! They could also be used at a bachelorette party, birthday party, girls night out/in, wherever! The straws can be washed and reused. I don’t have a dishwasher but I found that washing them in the sink worked fine. As I said, they are thick and durable. As long as you’re not biting and bending the straw, they should last.

Overall, I’m very happy with these straws! I know that my friends are going to get a good laugh from them. They’re well made, cute, does what they’re supposed to, and are reasonably priced. I’ve deducted one star from the rating because I am unclear of how safe the material is. I’d love to see these straws offered in a wider variety of colours. The pink and black is nice but I’d love to see purple penises too!
