Amber plug - butt plug by Don Wands - review by Boxers Over Briefs

I really love this plug. It has the right looks, the right feel, and the right material. It performed very well during both heavy thrusting and simple chores around the house, and also makes a beautiful addition sitting atop my desk. In short, my praises are many and complaints few.

The Don Wands Amber Plug comes with a lovely little padded pouch to keep your toy safe from the little scratches and cracks which could develop into big problems. That said, the borosilicate glass that this plug is made of is sturdy and will resist a lot of abuse, but it is still glass and should be treated with care. The package also contains a little sample of silicone lubricant (Wet Platinum Bodyglide) to get you started right away.

My favorite qualities about the toy are the material, the shape, and the appearance, which says a lot about my opinion of the plug since there aren't many more qualities that are important in my mind.

The plug is made of strong and durable borosilicate glass (the same stuff as good glass cookware) which means it will be able to handle more extreme temperatures changes than your standard glass and you can focus on enjoying the toy, rather than on keeping it safe. This will let you get into a wide range of temperatures for play with hot and cold, which is something I'd recommend since the material holds temperature fairly well. It's also easily cleaned, and is compatible with water, oil, and silicone lubes.

Regarding the shape, the Amber Plug is fairly similar to Doc Johnson's Sexy Spades Small. The main differences are that the Amber Plug is slightly longer, and thicker in the neck. For me, the shape is just about right for everything that sits inside the body, though I could complain a bit about the base. The makers obviously tried to make the base as unobtrusive as possible since it's nearly the same size as the widest part of the head. Still, the perfectly round shape combined with the unyielding glass can make it more noticeable at times, especially when sitting.

The Don Wands Amber Plug is a beautiful toy, from its crystal clear neck to the amber and crimson swirls of glass on the head. I've had a good time with this plug in the short time I've owned it, and I fully expect that it will maintain an honored place in my toy box in the future. I highly recommend this toy.
