The E4 is a vibrating prostate massager in Jopen’s Ego line of sex toys. It is loaded with features and definitely feels like a quality item. I’m quickly learning that Jopen is the name if you want a quality item loaded with features that gets the job done.

Jopen wrapped this toy in the same premium silicone that they use for all of their items. If you’ve never felt an item made by Jopen let me just explain it. It feels like luxury. It has a soft, satiny feel to the silicone. This type of material does cause a lot of drag, however, and it is prone to collecting lint/dirt. You will want to make sure you use plenty of lube and that you clean it before and after you use it.

The toy is very rigid and firm underneath, but the premium silicone does a great job of softening the hardness so you don’t injure yourself when you insert this prostate massager. It also makes the toy a little more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. At first I thought this firmness would not be as good as if the neck of the toy were flexible, but you’ll read later why this way works much better.

Silicone is a great material that is known for its hygienic qualities. It is non-porous and hypoallergenic. It’s very easy to clean and is a very durable material. Silicone is phthalates and latex free and makes a great material for anal play since it resists bacteria so well. There’s not really any odor to this toy unless you put it right up to your nose. Then it smells as you would expect silicone to smell (a little rubbery).

The E4 is a prostate massager in the shape of an “L”. Because it is virtually seamless everything is covered in silicone, you can actually insert either end inside your body, but it’s really designed for the longer end to be inserted. Inserting the smaller end probably wouldn’t reach your prostate and would make the toy less effective. The longer end (the probe side) has an insertable length of about 3 1/2" and the smaller end (external side) 1 1/2". The probe end has a diameter of 1 1/2". The external end doesn’t have a diameter listed, but it looks to me to be just slightly smaller than the probe end. I would estimate the external end to be about 1 1/4" in diameter. Beginners may need to warm up to this size, but most average to advanced anal players probably won’t have any problems with the size.

Both ends start at about their largest size before tapering down to a smaller diameter. The probe end tapers down to a very small size at the base of the neck. This is what makes the toy so great for staying in place unassisted during play. The external side keeps the toy from being pulled inside you, while the larger probe end keeps the toy from being pushed back out until you are finished playing.

When I first pulled the toy out of the box I was a little disappointed to feel how firm the neck was. I was hoping it would be more flexible thinking that that would make the toy more effective and comfortable during use. I’m not too big of a man to admit when I am wrong. There’s actually two ways to stimulate the prostate, internally and externally. When you orgasm, your anal muscles contract and pull the probe end inside against your prostate more (hopefully, every body is a little different). Because this toy is hard and unyielding, what these contractions also do is pull the external end tight against your perineum. That stimulates your prostate both from the inside and the outside and it is at this moment when you will probably see stars. At least that’s when I did.

I did feel like both arms could be just slightly longer and it would make the toy feel like it would stay in place. I never had a moment where the toy started to slide out or anything. It just felt like it might, but that could have been all in my head. I actually wore it for at least 30 minutes of play and walked up stairs and moved into a wide range of positions and it never once slipped, so maybe Jopen knows what they are doing. I certainly can’t argue with the results.

The first thing you’ll want to do when you receive this little piece of heaven is charge the toy with the provided usb cable for about 3 hours. Jopen says the toy will charge fully in 3 hours, but my first charge only took about 2 hours or so. The usb cable has a long needle-like end that you push into a small hole in the back side of the toys neck. There is a light that lights up while the product is charging and it will go out when charging is complete. I’m not sure how long a full charge lasts since I haven’t depleted the battery since the initial charge, but it seems to last a long time. I’m guessing the LED light around the power button will start to blink when the toy needs to be recharged. Jopen never says that explicitly. You will also probably notice a decrease in vibration strength. The toy is powered by a premium rechargeable lithium ion battery that cannot be replaced, but should last a long time.

The E4 is powered by PowerBullet and powerful is no exaggeration. To me it feels like there is a vibrator in both ends of the toy and the firmness of the toy really helps make the vibrations felt on every inch of the toy. Jopen seems to have perfected the ability to make a vibrator extremely powerful while still remaining whisper quiet and the E4 keeps with this tradition. I can confidently say they are the strongest vibrations I have felt when on the highest setting. I can also say that it is very quiet. You probably won’t hear this vibrator through a door, especially if it is inserted. I would say it is as quiet as a vibrator gets.

Operating this toy is simple. Simply push the silicone-covered button once to turn the toy on to its lowest vibrations or press and hold the toy to change speeds. The speed of vibrations will climb until it reaches the highest setting and then it will stay vibrating at that setting. The only way to stop the vibrations is to push the button again. This will shut off the vibrations and you will have to start over again at the lowest speed. This toy doesn’t save the setting you were previously at before shutting off the toy. That’s not a big deal, though, since it only takes a matter of seconds to get back up to speed. As all of Jopen’s vibrators, this massager can be put into locked mode so it doesn’t accidentally turn on when you don’t want it to. Simply press the button three times quickly and the toy will lock. The LED light around the button will light up for a couple of seconds to tell you that. Pressing the button quickly three more times is the only way to get the toy out of locked mode and again the light will light up.

I love that this toy is waterproof. My wife and I play in the shower often and I’ve tried using other vibrating prostate massagers in the shower, but they always seem to get ruined because they have cords. This one has no cords for water to run down. The massager is perfectly safe for water play.

While this toy is clearly designed to pleasure men and does its job well, there’s no reason the ladies can’t enjoy it too. It would still feel good anally even without a prostate since it will probably vibrate all of your genitals. If the measurements work for you (again every body is a little different) you could even use this massager from G-spot stimulation or use it for external pinpoint stimulations. This massager can actually be pretty versatile.

Silicone is incredibly easy to take care of. Even though you probably shouldn’t boil it or throw it in the dishwasher, you can still clean it easily with warm soap and water or a toy cleaning solution. You can also use toy wipes or a 10% bleach solution for cleaning. Jopen recommends you clean this toy before and after each use. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Because this toy is made from silicone you’ll want to make sure you only use water-based lubes with it. Some silicone lubes may work with it without causing negative side effects, but this toy is not worth taking the risk in my opinion.

As you can see from the product page and user-submitted images, the E4 comes nicely packaged. It arrives nestled cozily inside foam in a slide-out box. Inside you’ll also find the usb charging cable and a booklet that shows all the options in the Ego line of toys and the highlights of the line in various languages. The back of the box also has pictures of what’s inside along with the highlights again and Jopen’s website. The pictures and highlights make the packaging not very discreet.

The box not only looks great, but it also makes a great way to store the toy between uses. Simply throw it back in the box when you’re done playing with it to keep it separated from any other silicone toy that may wish to do it harm out of jealousy (or because silicone on silicone can cause toys to melt together). If you so choose to, you could recycle the box and just throw the toy in wherever you store your other sex items, but I will keep it to store the toy in.
