The Ziggy is best for anal use by those who are not brand new to anal play. This was my first plug and after using it I can safely say I'd recommend it for those new to plugs, as long as they are okay with a the possibility of a slight amount of discomfort at insertion. It may not really be wide enough for those who are more experienced with plugs, especially if they require a larger diameter/circumference to feel the pressure in the right spots. Although it’s intended mainly for anal use, I found the Ziggy also applied good pressure to my G-spot when inserted vaginally. Just make sure that if you're using Ziggy or any other glass or metal piece vaginally, that you are careful not to be too rough when thrusting or you could bruise the cervix.


For those who are looking to try temperature play, Ziggy's got you covered there. And since it's waterproof and doesn't require any power source, the Ziggy can be used anywhere and in most living situations. Ziggy would even be appropriate for college dorm living, is great for couples, and single women or men. To put it short, Ziggy has something to offer everybody.

Ziggy is made out of the very safe and non-porous Borosilicate Glass which rates a 10 on the Eden material safety scale. In the early 19th century, this higher grade glass started being used in cookware since it’s both food safe and temperature friendly. Ever heard of Kimax, Pyrex (the European manufacturer, the US manufacturer uses tempered soda-lime glass), Endural, Schott, or Refmex? These are all brands that have chosen to make their products out of Borosilicate glass because it’s thought to be more resistant to temperature shock. Have you ever placed a hot glass baking dish on a wet cold surface only to have in crack almost instantly? That’s temperature shock. This doesn’t mean that Borosilicate glass cannot be shocked into cracking or broken from misuse or dropping though, it just means it may be a little harder to do.

If you are big into temperature play, like I am, then you will appreciate this toy's ability to be both warmed and cooled to add additional sensation. But for those less inclined to temperature play, the glass warms up relatively quickly.

There is no noticeable smell or taste to the glass but it does have a nice deep green color that is wonderful to find in a glass piece; since most borosilicate glass begins clear.

This glass lends itself well to all levels of experience since there is no real surface texture to overwhelm someone newer to anal plugs. It has a smooth surface that is very slippery when lube is added to it which was a major bonus for me. Slippery meant easier anal insertion, and I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I don't care for lots of little bumps or ridges in the material texture with anal toys. I'd prefer that be left to the design; the shape if you will.

Unfortunately there is no give or flexibility to glass so if you don't like a full rigid feeling and want a little give in your toys, you may find this one uncomfortably firm. I personally found the glass to not be as comfortable for extended wear. I do a lot of bending and twisting in daily activity and need something that is a little more movement friendly towards the top.


Borosilicate glass is hypo-allergenic, latex free, phthalate free, and one (if not the only) toy material that is safe for people with environmental illness and multiple chemical sensitivity to use. The only real safety risk with glass pieces is breakage. At the end of the day, all glass can break so make sure to inspect your Ziggy each time you use it even if you think there is no possibility that it could have been damaged. Unlike normal glass, this type of glass will not shatter into a million pieces but a small crack or chip could cause it to break into a couple of larger, and possibly sharp, not orifice friendly pieces. Ouch.

Okay I'll admit I found the Ziggy to be a little visually overwhelming at first, with all of those curvy little bubbles. The Ziggy isn't your average cone shaped plug with gently sloping angles, but once I got it here and in my hands, and a few other places, I realized how awesome those bubbles are.

The Ziggy's bubbles range from ¾ in in diameter on the smallest to 1 3/8” in diameter on the largest (circumferences from 2 ½” to 4 ½”) and are positioned one on top of another (smallest on top) with no real space in between them. I measured them to have a combined height of just under 3 inches. Now, as I mentioned earlier, the bubbles provided some pretty awesome G-spot stimulation, but the big bubble gave me a little bit of a jump when inserting it anally for the first time. Once I got past the initial zing of that I noticed that it, combined with the post at the bottom, (measuring just under 1” long and ½” in diameter, 2 ½” in circumference), and the shape of the flared base, made for a toy that stayed in place exceedingly well even during vigorous intercourse. The base's sides have indents that fit nicely between your legs/thighs/butt cheeks when worn and is roughly 2 1/2" long and between 1 1/4" to 1 3/4" wide.

Ziggy also had a nice weight to it. I measured it on a postal scale at 5.3 oz which is right on with the manufacturers 5.2 oz quote. Not a heavy toy by a long shot, but heavy enough to add to the sensation a bit and let you know it's there.


With an overall length of 4 1/2 inches (an insertable length of 4 inches) Ziggy isn't very big and would be easy enough to take with you in pretty much any size bag. It would also be easy to hide if you found yourself needing to remove it in the midst of a public extended wear session. I found a 4 oz bottle of Benadryl to be a pretty close size comparison. Due to the fact that it is so compact, it is fairly travel friendly; but if you have to pass a bag check somewhere along the line be prepared for a question or two. Its shape is a bit unusual after all, not something you see every day.

The Ziggy stood up to my expectations in every way possible and even went above and beyond what I expected from an anal plug in some ways. It's a size that although slightly uncomfortable at first, was easy enough to adjust to and has excellent potential as a prep toy for anal sex. When worn anally during doggy style penetration it felt amazing. The base wasn’t too bulky for me and put just enough pressure on all the right spots without giving too much of a full feeling. My partner also said he barely felt the base but was able to feel the plug while he was inside of me.

When I checked to see if Ziggy was able to transmit vibrations, I was happy to see to that when I placed a pocket rocket at the center of the base, I was still able to feel pretty even vibrations throughout the toy. This was a pleasant surprise because the design of some glass toys, especially those that have parts that are decently thicker then others like the bottom bubble, cause the vibrations to spread unevenly or end up in where you don't want them. This will add some noise factor to the Ziggy, so if the quiet factor is one of the reasons you are purchasing it make sure you consider both the sound from the vibe and the sound it may make where it touches the Ziggy. I have found softer materials and finishes to be the quietest.

Just as another size reference on that bottom ball it was just under 3 of my fingers wide.

Compatible with all lubes, this toy may take less lube then some toys due to its non-porous nature. No holes means nowhere for the lube to go, so things get slippery pretty easily. If you are using Ziggy during vaginal sex with a condom you may want to make sure your lube is condom friendly though, since it’s not likely that you’ll be able to keep the two separate.

Ziggy can be cleaned in almost every way imaginable, making it very user friendly for all experience levels. I didn’t find any problem areas for cleaning except possibly where the neck of the Ziggy met its base. The lube wanted to kind of pool there so it did need a little extra scrubbing. Antibacterial toy cleansers and wipes or warm water and soap (something mild since the toy will be used on sensitive skin when used next) followed by a drying from a soft towel would be enough for a quick clean, but you can also put your Ziggy in the dishwasher. Just make sure it’s not going to be banging against anything during the wash cycle. Ziggy is able to be completely sterilized by using rubbing alcohol, a mild bleach solution, and also by boiling in between uses or if it is being shared.

Storage is pretty basic as far as glass toys go. You'll want to keep it in its own pouch, preferably one that will protect the surface from scratches. If you are proud of your glass pieces and want to leave them out in the open that's fine too. A weekly dusting along with the occasional wash and thorough cleaning before use should do the trick. Hey, don't knock it till you try it, sometimes there's just nothing as pretty as a nice piece of glass.

The Ziggy arrived wrapped inside some bubble wrap and slipped inside its red pouch. There were no instructions so it was assumed that this user knew how to use her newly acquired Ziggy, which luckily for me, I did. The pouch is perfectly sized to hold the Ziggy and leave a small a bit of wiggle room. It works really well as a storage pouch in the container that I keep my other toys in, but it is a bit of a lint magnet in my fur and lint filled house. Another positive point for the pouch though is its ability to conceal what's inside fairly well (at least visually, if they pick it up the gigs lost) if it was accidentally left where somebody could see it.

Since they didn't include instructions with the Ziggy, I'll let you know what I found to work best. Make sure you’re comfortable and that your Ziggy is at good temperature for insertion. Apply lube to the Ziggy and yourself if necessary, then insert either vaginally or anally. If you are newer to anal plugs or even just new to this shape, you may need to apply some additional lube to the neck of the biggest ball. I found that made anal insertion so much easier. Vaginal insertion for me didn't require additional lube but that could be different depending on the person and situation.

This toy is like so many other glass toys I own. The thing I love it for the most is temperature play and as far as temperature play toys go, borosilicate glass is up there with the best. Just keep in mind that it cannot handle more extreme temperatures. If you want a toy that gets really cold or really hot quickly or something that you can put a flame up to, I recommend considering stone and metal toys instead of a glass toy. Some people say microwaving and freezing work but I wouldn't personally recommend it as I have cracked one in the freezer and have heard of a friend cracking one in the microwave. Remember when engaging in temperature play with glass, raising the temperature gradually is always best. Submerge your toy first and then raise the temperature using either ice or your stove. A pan and a hotplate will also work for those who don't own a stove. It should take on average no more then 10-15 minutes to obtain your desired temperature and Ziggy will hold the temperature for anywhere from 5-8 minutes. If you return your toy to water briefly before it returns to room temperature it can help to keep the temperature cooler/hotter longer.

One thing I'm dying to do with this toy is to have this and a glass dildo, one hot, one cold, and both being used at the same time or in turns. The sensations from that type of temperature play can be incredibly intense and since this is my first glass plug, it's the first time I've had the chance to try it with something other than two similar glass dildos. If you are into temperature play and want to add an extra bit of excitement to your escapades, I would really recommend you give it a whirl. I just have to find the right dildo to pair this with since its shape is a little different from a standard anal plug and you have to be careful about glass on glass contact with vigorous play.
