Bona Dea meet Mona Mi...

The Touche Bona Dea is very cute in design and is overall well made. The three bullets however each take 2 watch batteries that don't last long, and their not waterproof unless inserted into the silicone mold. I like that the silicone is flexible (in the stems) and firm (in the bulbs). However it may be difficult at first to insert the bulbs with the flexible stems. I wish that the clean up was easier, and that the bullets did not have to be turned on separately.

Use

The Touche Bona Dea is made for anal play. The bulbs contain bullets, which when turned on will allow it to vibrate making for a unique sensation. Now if your not really into anal play the Touche Bona Dea can also be used vaginally. However once you use it anally I would not use it vaginally, because there is a possibility that it is not 100% clean. I do recommend this for all users from beginner to intermediate to advanced. The bulbs are not overwhelmingly huge, nor are they super small. I feel that they are a happy medium.

Material / Texture

The Touche Bona dea is made from a high quality (silicone); this means it can be sanitized. The silicone is soft, flexible, and non-porous. When the bullets are removed the bulbs can be squished, then they return to their shape once you release your grip. Now each of the bullets are made from plastic, so be sure to remove them before cleaning.

When I opened up my Touche Bona dea for the first time I was very pleased. There was no weired smell or any major defects. I did notice the seams that run down the toy, but they do not effect the use of the toy in any way.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The Touche bona dea has a simple yet elegant design. There are 3 bulbs that measure 4 inches in circumference; in between each bulb is a stem section that measures 3/4 an inch in length. The total length of the toy is 9 inches long. Now each of the bulbs contain a small bullet which allows them to vibrate. Sounds great doesn't it... but there are some flaws.

The bullets have to be turned on individually and only have one setting. When all three bullets are turned on the vibrations are pretty strong, you can weaken them by turning on just 1 or 2 of the bullets (so I guess you could say the toy as a whole has 3 different vibration levels). The bullets are each powered by 2 watch batteries; the watch batteries have a total life span of a max 40 minutes. To turn the bullets on all you have to do is push the silicone button on the end of the bullets, then you push it again to turn it off. Keeping the bullets on during insertion can be rather hard because the location of the on/off button (which lies at the bottom underside portion of each bulb).

The packaging says the Touche bona dea is water proof and it is; however the bullets are not. You can use this toy in the shower, but I would strongly urge against using it in the tub or submerging it completely in water.

Performance

My experience with the Touche Bona Dea was a sort of love/hate relationship. I found that the vibrations to be quite pleasurable, but I did not like that they only lasted 40 minutes. If the bullets used one AAA instead of 2 tiny watch batteries they would last longer and be cheaper to replace; because honestly I don't want to keep going out and buying 6 watch batteries everytime I wish to use it. Also I love how the bulbs are almost tear shaped (small at one end and gradually gets bigger), this allows for easy insertion. The stems that connect to the bulbs connect more so to one side of the bulb in stead of dead center. With the off set stems you have 2 different stimulation possibilities: 1. A smooth side, and 2. A bumpy side. The smoother side I would recommend for beginners while more advanced users will find the bumpy side rather pleasurable. Overall my experience was a good one, with it's downsides too. I do enjoy using my Touche Bona Dea, but unfortunately I do not use the vibrations.

Care and Maintenance

Now there are a few steps to cleaning the Touche Bona Dea:

1. Lightly rinse off the surface of the toy

2. Remove the bullets using the bullet key

3. Carefully wash the bullets with a toy wipe or a damp towel (Caution the bullets are not water proof)

4. Using some warm water and mild soap clean the silicone mold - Make sure to get inside the holes

(Now the silicone mold is completely water proof so it can be placed in the dishwasher or boiled in order to sanitize it)

5. Lay both the bullets and the silicone mold out to dry or towel dry lightly with a lint free towel

6. Once everything is dry re-insert the bullets into the silicone mold

7. Store the Touche Bona Dea in a cool dry place, or in it's own toy pouch as it may collect lint.

Now your Touche Bona Dea is ready to go the next time you wish to use it.

Packaging

The Touche Bona Dea Comes packaged in a black box with silvery crowns on it. The toy can be seen through a window in it's plastic bubble pouch. The back panel also opens up to give you a 360 degree view of the toy. On the back panel you will see in silver letters some basic information about the Touche Bona Dea. This information includes the toys uses, battery size, and how long the batteries last. Once you open your Touche Bona Dea make sure to check under the plastic bubble packaging; here you will find the bullet key, and two sets of instructions. Each instruction booklet includes the same information in 4 different languages, with a total of 8 different languages. The packaging can be used for storage if you would like to keep your toy from coming into contact with any of your other toys.

Personal comments

I have had my ups and downs with this product. First off the first few times I tried to insert this product with the bullets on I kept turning them off because I would accedently hit the button with my fingers. After some thought I have figured out an easy process to insert them without having this problem.

First just leave the bullets turned off when you start to insert each bulb. When the bulb is almost in (where your anus will pull it the rest of the way in) push the button turning on the bullet. You may need to provide some resistance with your other hand to keep the bulb in place long enough for you to push the button. Then just repeat the process for the other 2 bulbs.

The bullet key was a little tricky at first, but after working with it for a little I have mastered it. For easy removal insert the key in sideways until you feel it at the end of the bulb; rotate it 90 degrees and pull back on it to remove the bullet.

Bullet KeyBullet Key

When I first removed the bullets from my Toche bona dea I noticed that they all had seams that ran down the sides where the plastic meets. One of my bullets had come apart slightly at the seam, and I could see inside of it. With a little pressure I was able to close it back up.

Also you may want to make sure to use enough lube so that the silicone doesn't pull on your skin as you insert and remove the toy.

I was interested in these, but I don't like that they use watch batteries. Great review!

Great review. It would be nice if they had a set for beginners.

These look pretty cool but I could see the opening at the bottom of each bulb for the bullet attracting dirt and being hard to clean after anal play pretty quickly. Thanks for the great review.

Potsticker - Yea the watch batteries is a total let down, but I like the overall toy.

Schwaltze - I agree I think if they had a set that was only 1 or two bulbs it would work well for beginners.

Jimbo Jones - Yea they do get dirt and other stuff in them, but after play their rather easy to clean. If you need to you can use a Q-tip to ge down in them. I have small fingers so I can get down in them pretty easily.
