Great anal beads for beginners—but traps smells (ew!)
These are my very first anal beads, and my experiences with them have definitely been positive (with the exception of my single unhygienic adventure). These toys feel fantastic, and are a very appealing length and width for anyone who is looking for a new anal experience. For very experienced anal toy users, however, these will definitely be lacking in the "wow" factor.

Pros
Good for newbies, gentle, very pleasurable.
Cons
Hygiene concerns, not for "size queens."
These anal beads are fantastic for beginners. The beads start off extremely thin, and gradually increase in size until it reaches about one inch in diameter. These beads are definitely newbie friendly, and can easily be enjoyed by more experienced users—but size queens beware, if you're looking for BIG beads, you're not going to enjoy these. They feel amazingly sexy going in and out slowly—and there's a convenient loop at the end that makes it very easy to hold and use. They're soft and nonabrasive, any edges in the toy have been well smoothed out by the manufacturer, so there are no worries about having an uncomfortable toy.
My only issue is the material—jelly cannot be completely sterilized. The material is porous and can trap scents, as I was unfortunate to find one day after using these. I'll include a more detailed account of the experience below. But for now, it's safe to say that I will not be purchasing another anal toy made out of jelly. To clean these beads, use warm water and toy cleaner or soap. Do NOT use strong soap and do NOT boil this toy! Also do not share the toy unless it is covered with a new condom whenever it is to be used with a new partner. The Anal 101 Intro beads are waterproof, and the shape allows for easy cleaning.
The toy is very lightweight and allows about 8 inches for insertion. The price is definitely reasonable, and the toy is safe as long as proper cleaning measures are taken. With that, however, I do say that silicone is a much better material for anal toys. The anus can be a very unclean place due to fecal matter—and always remember: NEVER allow jelly anal toys to contact the vagina. Just as wiping from 'back to front' is dangerous, the same goes for using a toy 'back to front'. :P

Experience
With the Anal 101 Intro beads, I unfortunately came upon a cleaning issue. One day after use, I found that they were contaminated with fecal matter. At first I was simply grossed out and figured that just meant cleaning would be particularly nasty today, and went about my business. I used warm water and soap, as well as spritzed the toy repeatedly with antibacterial toy cleaner. Even after washing for a good five minutes straight, the smell would not come off. It was disgusting, and I continued washing for another five minutes. The smell was much less noticeable, but personally I want all my toys smelling like the first day I got them. Having a lingering scent is unacceptable, and unfortunately I found that occurred with this toy. Unfortunately, I still cannot say that I am 100% certain of the cleanliness of my toy, so I will be moving on and looking for silicone anal beads. This is NOT to say that the Anal 101 intro beads are dirty, they simply, like all jelly products, cannot be completely sterilized. Unfortunately, jelly is a naturally porous material, and I'm a bit anal retentive (forgive the pun) when it comes to cleanliness and my sex toys.

Thank you for viewing Shane's World anal beads – beads discontinued review page!
I suppose the important thing is to avoid contact as it can be unhealthy, but I tend to be anal (no pun intended, ok, maybe a little intended) about health info provided in reviews being based on medical facts and not common assumptions.
And I agree, silicone is so much more preferable for anal toys than jelly!
