I bought the Icicles No. 1 after some thought as my very first anal toy. When it arrived, I tried it right away and was not disappointed. The shaft of the toy is about 3.25" around, so it is friendly towards novice users. After using it for a while the 'normal' way, one can flip it around and insert the ball end as well. Exercising caution when doing this is key, and you should be careful not to force it in. This will just lead to a painful experience. Since this is glass pushing into your soft anal flesh, I caution against thrusting it too firmly in, as this may cause some soreness. On the plus side to this material, it is very easy to clean off and does not hold any smells or attract hairs. Cleaning can be done with toy wipes, through the dishwasher, or by boiling. You could find yourself saying "good as new" after every time you clean it. Since it is glass, all types of lube can be used with much success. I personally use water-based lubricants, and that works splendidly.

Due to the toy's firmness, it will not conform to the body's natural bends and as such has some trouble when used for deeper penetration. It is worth stressing that this is good only for careful anal play. This toy, however, is long enough to satisfy almost anyone while still having enough left to grab onto and move around. On its own, this toy might be leading to somewhat of a let-down if you are not a total novice. Icicles No. 1 is great for warming up and stretching out for toys with more girth, but its slightly slender shaft may leave you wanting more. Another thing to point out for beginners such as I was is this: Icicles No. 1 is a dildo. This means that it is probably not the ideal tool to be p-spotting with.

If this is understood, then this toy is really quite a steal. It's a well-made toy in a classy case you might not want to throw away. The length on it is fantastic and the fact that both of its sides can be used is a big plus. I would recommend this toy to any anal beginner on somewhat of a budget, as well as anyone who would like a warm-up toy for something with a bit more "oomph" in its circumference.

I've found my best sessions with this toy have been with using a water-based lubricant while on my back in a warm shower. You'll definitely want to exercise caution with the ball end and warm up before popping it in. This is great for getting relaxed and ready for thicker toys later in the session.
