Icicles No. 1 - double ended dildo discontinued by Pipedream - review by Eva Schwaltz

The Icicles No. 1 from Pipedream is a wonderful swirled and double-ended dildo. It doesn’t really have a flared base so I would caution against using this anally. There are other glass pieces in this line more suitable for that kind of pleasure.

The shaft is completely straight but one end has a bulbous head which may provide minimal G-spot stimulation. The swirled ridge going around the shaft provides a neat sensation as the dildo is thrusted. Caution must be taken to not thrust too vigeriously as glass is a very firm material and you can bruise the cervix.

Temperature play is also really fun to do. Heat it up with warm water or chill it in a bowl of ice and water and enjoy. I would caution against putting it in the freezer or microwave as those temperatures are too extreme for the body to handle comfortably.

The Icicles No. 1 is made of Borosilicate glass which is extremely durable. It won't break easily but if it should, it would break up into large pieces rather than shatter into little tiny ones.

Glass is non-porous so if cleaned really well, it won't hold onto any fluids. It won't attract hair and lint like most silicone or jelly would. It also can be used with any kind of lubricant and only a small amount is needed since glass becomes very slick.

One end is larger than the other, but the swirled texture is pretty consistent throughout the shaft so both ends provide a very similar experience. Those who are very texture sensitive will not like this piece.

It is likely most people will figure out what this is used for so tuck it away if you don’t want people knowing you own these types of objects.

This isn’t a really girthy dildo but it’s one of the longer ones in the Icicles line. It is 9” long and since either end is insertable, just insert however much is comfortable. The bulbous head is 4 ¾” in circumference but the rest of the shaft is 3 ½”. It could be a bit overwhelming to newcomers but if this texture appeals to you, there’s always the Icicles No. 4 which is a little smaller.

Even though this piece is completely straight, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The pronounced head is quite noticeable during use and provides a nice amount of pressure to the G-spot. The lack of curve means it won’t work for everyone though.

Both ends are really nice but when I use the non-bulbous end, I notice the swirled texture a lot more. This piece is a little longer than other pieces I own but the length is good for gripping and allows me better control when using. This is a solid piece I think many glass lovers would enjoy.

The Icicles No. 4 is really easy to clean and care for. Soap and water will do the truck but it can be sterilized with a 10 percent bleach solution or by boiling for a couple of minutes. Make sure when boiling to let it cool down before removing because glass doesn’t like to change temperatures rapidly. Make sure to inspect it before using for any chips or cracks because you don’t want to get cut.

It doesn’t come with a pouch to store it in but the box will work well for storage although I find it a little bulky.

This comes in a box which is similar to all of the toys in this line. The box has “Icicles” written all over it and pictures of the dildo on each of the sides. There is also a flap on the cover which can be opened and you can see the contents inside through a plastic window. It’s not really discreet but is nice enough to give as a gift as there is nothing provocative about it.
