This is a classic plug that is on the larger side. It's rubber, so it is a little difficult to care for. The non-skid texture is very effective but it makes it uncomfortable for removal. Great buy for the price, but the texture is a down side just as much as it is an upside.
This is an anal plug offered by Doc Johnson. It is offered in two sizes, but this review will focus on the larger 1 1/2" plug rather than the 1 1/4" size. It's specifically designed to be a plug that doesn't fall out because of the texture.
This is large enough to be used for vaginal use, but if you do that make sure to use a condom because rubber is porous and cannot be sterilized.
I really like the rectangular base of this plug because it fits comfortably between my cheeks. The base is large enough to safely be used anally.
This is made from rubber, which is a 3 on the EF safety scale due to it being porous. I will cover this more in "Maintenance and Care".
Many people find that rubber has a smell, but I didn't notice any odor from this product upon opening the package nor have I noticed any since using and cleaning. It doesn't attract lint like silicone does and it is still easy to wipe down because the texture isn't deep.
It feels firm, but does have a level of squish to it. There feels like there is a more squishy internal core with a thin firm outside.
This toy is based around its texture. It resembles an orange peel. It creates drag, but that is the intention. It is designed not to slip out even with lube, and it does so very well. The down side of this is that the drag makes it a little painful on entry and definitely not the best experience upon removal. I think that it was exacerbated by my inexperience with a toy of this size. I still plan on using this again, but it will take some time to be comfortable for me.
This plug is tear dropped shaped like a traditional plug. The tip looks blunt and about an inch across which seems intimidating for insertion, but it slips in easily.
The plug is about 5.5" in total length with an insertable length of about 4.75". It has a diameter of 1.5" and a circumference of 4.25".
This is not a beginner toy, but I think that it is a size that just about anyone can reach with work.
Oh my, this plug is intense for me. I have only been exploring anal for a little over a month, but I felt ready to size up. I sized up too far for me, but that's nothing against this toy.
It took time and patience to work up to being able to take all of this toy, but it's a very well designed plug. The tip is very comfortable for insertion and the flare is very gradual. It's comfortable to insert as long as you are ready for the circumference.
This toy was amazing for me as long as it was taken very slow and with a lot of lube. It didn't slip at all while I had it in even while I was using a lot of lube, so I give it major thumbs up for doing what it promised. The texture wasn't uncomfortable for me going in, only coming out.
This isn't a terribly discreet toy as it looks like plug. I would recommend stashing this in a drawer or under the bed if you don't want company to know about your extracurricular activities.
This is made from rubber. Rubber is not one of my favorite materials for toys. It's hard to sanitize, and there is something about the way it feels that I don't like. Luckily, the later isn't a big problem with this toy because the texture covers up the rubbery feel that I can't stand.
It's only three on the EF safety scale because it is porous and cannot be boiled or tossed in the dishwasher. You can wash this with antibacterial soap and warm water.
Rubber's sanitary issues make up for it's storage. You don't have to keep rubber away from any specific material, nor do you have to worry about it melting in a warm room like jelly.
Rubber is also not finicky about a specific kind of lube. You can use water or silicone with this toy. Personally, I would recommend a thicker lube to help smooth over the texture just a little.
This was packaged in a basic clear plastic clam shell with a card stock insert. The front lists the manufacturer, Doc Johnson, and the name of the toy, "Non-Skid Butt Plug". Not exactly discreet in my opinion. The rest of the insert is just advertisement for other toys offered from Doc Johnson.
It doesn't give any kind of care information for caring for the plug or even what it is made of.
It can be used for storage, but it is a little large. Because rubber doesn't have to be stored specially, I don't use the package for storage.
This is not a toy for a beginner. I wouldn't say that it is even good for an experienced beginner like myself. This is an intermediate toy at least.
The rubber means that it is a little difficult to maintain, but it makes up for it in price.
I think that this is a worthwhile toy for those that hate it when their plugs slip out as long as it is understood that the texture can be uncomfortable upon removal and possibly insertion.
I have just begun exploring anal via plugs and I picked this up as the next step up from my Beginner Anal Kit. My eyes were a bit bigger than I could handle. I ordered the 1 1/2" version of this because I was feeling over confident. Oh... was I overconfident.
The first time I used this I could only get this about 3" in before it was too much for me. I was able to master it on my second time with a lot of patience, time, and lube. I was using a water based lube because I have it on hand for my silicone plugs, and the texture made it feel very dry very quickly. This wasn't a huge problem upon insertion. Actually it felt fantastic upon insertion. It was the dismount that was the problem.
When I was removing this, the texture made it difficult and uncomfortable to do so. The non-skid works... both ways. It was difficult and slightly painful upon removal.
The non-skid texture is effective, but it has a large downside. I will use this again, but only when I feel adventurous enough to face the removal process.
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore28 days after original review
This one is no longer in my rotations. The texture was just too uncomfortable for me when placing and removing the plug. I found other options that don't come out for me that are far more comfortable.

I like your use of the word dismount in the experience section. I think investing in silicone plugs over rubber ones is definitely worth it. Thanks for the great review.

Thanks for an informative review and follow up. I'm not a fan of rubber toys generally and if the texture makes it uncomfortable going in and coming out, that seals it.
