Pi Aren’t Square, They’re Round

The Pi is part of the Tantus Elements line. As with all Tantus toys, the Pi is made from 100% medical grade silicone, so you know it will last. The Pi is like graduated anal beads with a twist. The twist is that they are bent to provide stimulation to your prostate or your g-spot depending on where they are inserted. The silicone is relatively soft and since the ripples are graduated, it makes it easy to insert and means the toy is good even if you are just a beginner at anal play.

extremely useful review
A new line of vibrators has been introduced by Tantus. They are called the elements and each one is given its own Greek letter as a designation. This particular piece is given the designation of Pi. How they came up with the different designations is beyond me, but I imagine there must have been some thought behind it. It doesn’t seem like the shape is similar to the symbol or anything like that.

As with all of the Tantus toys, the Pi-Probe|Elements Pi - Probe by Tantus is made out of 100% medical grade silicone. This means that it is non-porous and can be sterilized (boil for three minutes, or wipe with 10% bleach solution, or top rack of the dishwasher without soap). The one I received is pink. It sort of seems like a cross between a ProTouch|Pro touch plug and a Ripple|Ripple anal probe. I say this because it essentially has the curve of the ProTouch with the graduated bumps of the Ripple. With this new line, Tantus introduces a new, larger base with a grip at the top which is useful in making sure you have it pointed in the right direction once it is inserted. In order to call it a vibrator, Tantus hollowed out the base to allow for insertion of their standard one-speed, push button, bullet vibes (one set of three watch batteries included for convenience). In this case, the bullet cannot go all the way into the base unlike most of their vibrating toys. This can be both good and bad. It means that the bullet is generally easier to remove because it can’t go in as far, but it also means that toy is not as harness compatible with the bullet in place. Our solution to this was to use a smaller bullet with a remote so that the toy could still have vibration while being used in a harness. Also, since the base is larger, it can transmit some vibrations up to the wearer of the harness or to other areas of the one receiving the toy if it is buried to the hilt inside them.

All of these features really seem to add up to a pretty good toy. However, there were some things we had problems with. In actual application, we really found this toy to be too short for effective harness use. It just kept slipping out of whoever was on the receiving end of it. It did a decent job of transmitting the vibrations, but the bullet was just not strong enough to provide a lot of stimulation. Also, the silicone was just a little too pliable to provide firm prostate or g-spot stimulation. All in all, it was just not quite enough to bring myself or my partner to orgasm on its own. I guess you just can’t win them all.
Experience
After receiving this toy and giving it a once over, I put it away for a few days until a more convenient time presented itself to run the Pi through its paces. When that time finally rolled around, we decided to try it on my female partner first. After some oral warm up, I inserted the bullet as far as it would go and then I put the end of the Pi insider her pussy. She said it was very comfortable going in and the size was pretty small so she had no trouble taking it all in. I moved it around insider her and angled it up and down to try and get some good g-spot stimulation out of it. She said she could feel it a little bit, but it just did not provide enough stimulation. I turned the bullet on and she said that she could feel it somewhat, but again, it just wasn’t quite what it needed to be. I began slowly thrusting the Pi and while that was a little better, she said it would probably take all night before that got her there, so we ended the trial on her.
After some clean-up, it was my turn to receive the Pi. I laid down and received a little oral warm up from her before she tried any anal penetration on me. When it was time to insert the Pi, a little bit of lube was all it took to easily get it inserted as far as it needed to go. She tried some different angles and moved it around. The base made it easy to know which way on the toy was up which is really nice. I was able to feel it on my prostate, but it was not very strong. She tried some in-and-out motion, and while the ripples made this feel good, it just didn’t provide the prostate stimulation|Prostate stimulation I was looking for.

Too bad it isn't firmer. Does sound like a good toy otherwise. It might actually be a good fit for my husband, given he is so sensitive to pressure on his P-spot that a lot of toys provide too much pressure. Great review Jimbo Jones!

Aw, too bad it isn't the perfect probe, it sure looks it! Great review though! Very informative.

Thanks for the comments, Bulma and Foxxy. It didn't do a whole lot for me, but it might be "right up the alley" so to speak for some other guys.

When I first saw the picture of this toy, I immediately thought "Jimbo"! ;) Well, except for the pink... Great review!

Thanks, DD, I guess my reputation precedes me now. By the way, I am not so masculine that I can't use a pink toy now and then as long as it feels good. ;) This one wasn't quite as good as I was hoping for, but it is from Tantus, so you know it's high quality.

Great review Jimbo! We are new to anal so, I might have to give this one a try!
  • Contributor: Jimbo Jones
Thanks for the comments Dreamer and Max. It would probably be a pretty good toy for an anal beginner. No fear of losing anything in there.

Great review as always Jimbo! I wonder if tantus is going to make a toy for every letter in the greek alphabet.....=P
  • Contributor: Jimbo Jones
Oggins - I was kind of wondering the same thing, but they didn't really start at alpha and they've already done an omega but it would mean 24 new toys which would be cool.

Looks like it would be good for penetration-shy people who need smaller sizes. Tantus' line of new designs will probably need some tweaking too, though.
  • Contributor: Jimbo Jones
I agree, their new line has promise, but it is far from perfect right now.
