This was my very first anal toy, and my first foray into the world of anal stimulation. This is a wonderful first toy, due to its size, shape and the safety of the material it’s made of. I am experienced with glass toys, which I feel helps when using this toy, so perhaps it would not make an ideal first toy for someone with zero glass experience.

This toy is for anal play. It is far too skinny and short to provide vaginal stimulation for me, but it is wonderful for anal play. When inserting it or taking it out slowly, the pearls provide wonderful stimulation. This toy stays put once inserted, so it works well as a plug and can be used anally during double penetration. (I think it is a great toy to begin trying double penetration because it is nice and slim.) I have also really enjoyed thrusting this toy all by itself. It works just as well both ways, so it will work for whatever kind of anal stimulation you enjoy.

Temperature play is also easy with this toy. You can run it under cold water, or put it in the refrigerator for a minute to cool it down for an invigorating experience. You can also run it under warm water and heat it up to relax yourself.

This toy is made of tempered glass which is known by many other names. It is also called Borosilicate glass, or Pyrex (although note that Pyrex is simply a brand name for the same material). It is completely firm/rigid and there is absolutely no give to it whatsoever. Glass toys are extremely safe, and being completely non-porous they are easy to sterilize in the dishwasher, by boiling, or by using a 10% bleach solution. The safety rating of this toy makes it fantastic for anal play. (But as a safety note, be sure to regularly check all your glass toys for any scratches, cracks or defects before you use them each time.)

Normally, when people are trying out glass for the first time, I encourage them to get something smaller than they normally would due to the unforgiving nature of glass. There is no give to it, and a glass toy the same size as other squishier toys will often feel bigger simply for the fact that it does not give or squish at all. This toy fits into that category perfectly; its small size and smooth texture make it an ideal first anal toy in my opinion. Glass is also very slick on its own, which is a great property for an anal toy! Be sure to use plenty of lube, and your Pleasure Pearls will gently find just the right spot to nestle in!

I love the seamless design of this toy. For me, it combines the fun of anal beads with the fun of a plug. It's the best of both worlds! The size and design works perfectly for me. I love the feel of the pearls; it slides in perfectly and then stays put exactly where you want it. The pearls also feel great when thrusting, but the texture isn’t so extreme that it’s uncomfortable. It’s the perfect balance of smoothness with just enough texture to make it feel fantastic.

The size is wonderful for beginners, but probably for beginners only. This is a very small toy, measuring 4” long total, with about 3.5” insertable. The flared base is 1.75” across, and the shaft of the toy has a circumference of 2.75” around the widest part of the pearls, which is a diameter of about 0.88”. The skinny part of the shaft between the pearls is 2” in circumference, or 0.64” in diameter. It is very slim, which is good for a beginner to anal play, but intermediate or advanced users should know that this toy may not meet their needs.

I think this toy is fairly discreet. You could probably leave this sitting out on a dresser, and I think only other sex toy users would have an idea what it is. As for being travel friendly, I would tend to be very careful about that because it is made of glass. While glass toys are very strong and very safe, I would hate to pack this little gem in my checked luggage because you never know how your luggage will be treated. I have, however, done some traveling with it when I pack up my toy bag and hit the road, so depending on how you are traveling, you may be able to take this along since it is small.

I really like the design of this toy. I would make one change if I could though. While thrusting, I have to hold onto the flared base for a handle. The base can very quickly and easily get really slick with lube, making it slip out of my grip sometimes. I would love to see more of a handle on this toy, however I think the intent with a butt plug is to insert it and leave it there, so I imagine that is why it lacks the handle.

Glass is one of the safest, easiest materials to own. You can clean and sanitize it any number of ways. Besides washing this toy with your favorite antibacterial soap (or toy cleaner) and warm water, you can boil it, wash it in the dishwasher, clean it with a bleach solution, or even wipe it with alcohol. You can also use any lubricant you wish with it. Being so small I don't think you could use it with a condom, but it's unnecessary anyway (even when sharing) since you can completely sterilize this toy in any number of ways. It cleans up great each and every time. I have not had any problems whatsoever cleaning between the pearls either.

The packaging with this toy is minimal. It has no instruction booklet for use, nor does it come with a storage pouch. The back of the box contains very brief information on the toy, and the front of the box is completely clear. The packaging is not discreet at all. While it doesn't have naked models on it, it does have the words "massager" and "dong" on the outside of the box, so would only be appropriate for gift giving if the receiver is ok with everyone knowing they were just given a sex toy. For storage, you will have to provide your own pouch or, like me, you can commandeer an old sock.

Being new to anal play, I really didn't know what to expect. This toy has been a wonderful introduction! I absolutely love it, and I think it will be quite a while before I outgrow it. The pearls really are delicious for thrusting! The Pleasure Pearls have opened up a whole new world of fun for me and my man, and I look forward to a continued exploration of anal play.
