The Big Man by Doc Johnson leaves little doubt in its design that it's meant to be inserted in the ass and enjoyed by those who are experienced players in the world of large butt plugs. It's a safe toy with a wide base to prevent loss inside the anus and could also be used vaginally for a thick filling sensation with the base providing a good handhold.
Anyone with a butt relaxed enough to accept this plug will enjoy it but the ripples definitely are there to give the prostate a rubbing and men are likely the biggest target audience for this product.

Odorless and tasteless, the luxuriously smooth finish of this toy is delightful against the body and lacks any uncomfortably pronounced ridges or seam lines. Unfortunately, like most silicone toys, the Big Man tends to be a lint magnet even though its finish is not tacky to the touch.
A very firm squeeze will cause slight deformation to the product but it is comfortably yielding during the insertion process while being firm enough to not be uncontrollably floppy.
Three ripples are on the shaft of the toy and my husband does say they feel delightful and aid during the insertion process.

Lastly, and most importantly, this toy is huge! The size is delightful for those experienced enough to handle the sheer volume of this plug but is certainly not meant for everyone. The insertable length is just over 5 inches but the diameter is just over 2 inches. With a circumference of 7 inches this is a big volume toy. Don't let your eyes be bigger than your ass and expect a learning curve with this product.

For me personally this was a teaser toy, something that frustrated me with my body's inability to completely accept the whole thing. The tapered end and gradually enlarging ripples do aid in easier insertion but there is a limit to what my butt-hole will ultimately accept. My husband also had difficulty taking the whole plug but did accomplish the goal and loved the entire experience. This means you don't have to waste cash on covering it with a condom if you plan on sharing but there is only one caveat. Never use silicone based lubricants to slick this bad boy up or you'll wind up with a sticky, dissolving, worthless mess of a toy. Water or oil based lubes are the name of the game and the thicker the better if you stand a chance on ever getting this plug inside you. The lack of really deep ripples means that lubricant and bodily fluids don't get caught up in any grooves as well.
As for storage ensure that it doesn't come in contact with jelly material toys because the same dissolving issue may result or at best color transfer will occur. We personally recommend individual zip-lock bags for each toy in your tickle trunk to prevent such damage and they also prevent lint pick-up.

The Big Man comes in a not-so-big molded plastic clam-shell package that thankfully hasn't been heat sealed around the edges which could result in broken fingernails when opening. Thank you Doc Johnson! It's also recyclable for the tree-huggers out there if you don't mind your garbage man seeing the mold of a ginormous butt plug in your trash.
Absolutely no instructions are provided for this toy and I'd say at least a warning about its size would be a nice public service. The only statements made concern the products ease of cleaning, premium hypo-allergenic silicone, and great design features.
There is also a line about its life-like feel but I don't know how this plug can be called anything close to life-like due to its monstrous size!

Despite several honest attempts with copious amounts of thick slippery lube and gradually working up to the Big Man I still haven't managed to take the toy completely inside me. The last thickest ripple is still too much for me and I've had quite a few toys inside me in the past. This plug has challenged me more than I would have guessed and has become somewhat of an obsession or test I must pass.
