Sexy, comfortable, and plenty of fun

While I wouldn't recommend it for anal beginners, the Severin is a great plug for those looking to step it up a bit. It may not be the best for out and about use, but in home as a masturbatory aid it gets an A+!

Use

I suppose this could be used vaginally (after a thorough washing or first thing) but it's made to be a plug, and goddamn does it do well. Other than being sure to use plenty of lube and take it slow to avoid tearing your anal cavity, there're really no safety warnings on this boy - his big flared base ensures nothing's getting lost.

Material / Texture

Made of silicone, the Severin is smooth and firm but yielding. I didn't notice any straight out of the box smell, which was good. However, the Severin will likely retain a bit of odor; if this is a dealbreaker, I would recommend looking into glass plugs.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The design is gorgeous; taking a hint from anal beads, it gradually grows in size. This adds pleasure to the insertion, though once it's in won't make much of a difference. The base is perfect for an anal toy, but I found that when moving around it (I think) makes the toy pretty noticeable. For me that's not a bad thing, but it may be for someone else! Sitting down, though, I hardly noticed that it was in. The base was comfortable.

As for size, well, I opened it up and went "Wow, I'm glad I ordered the small." Compared to my Bootie, this thing was massive! Was that *really* just half an inch difference? I was sure it'd take some getting used to, but for me (with some lube, of course) it was quite easy to get in.

This is really not a discreet toy, though, so I'd leave it at home when traveling or tuck it away somewhere safe!

Performance

Oh god, this toy is amazing. Insertion feels especially great because of the way the toy widens and then narrows; it allows the sphincter to tighten against the narrow part before pushing the bigger one in. I found that with a bit of lube and some stimulation, this toy practically slid right in. I love it!

I didn't notice much when I was sitting down after a while, but walking around - oh my god. Unlike the Bootie's thin, long base that rests between the cheeks, the Severin's base is more square and sticks out more. Not sure if I just have a big ass or what, but walking around caused the plug to knock around inside of me. It felt AMAZING. Not sure if I'd be able to wear this one to work - I think the constant moaning would be an obvious sign!

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is one of the easiest materials to care for, just wash it with soap and warm water or boil it. I prefer to take care of my silicone toys by washing after each use, then boiling after three or four uses. Because of the design of the Severin, there are no crevices or anything that are hard to clean.

DO NOT use silicone-based lubes on this toy, or any silicone-based toy! There are plenty of water-based lubes out there, so if you don't have any yet, experiment!

    • Easy to clean

Packaging

Nothing to write home about. The Severin came in a plastic tray in a plastic box, though wrapped with about a yard of black material. Because, you know, *that's* not obvious. I was somewhat disappointed when I went to try to store the toy after use and found that the tray has an awkward design and doesn't close unless shoved in a box, so I'm going to find an alternative way to store this until I get a bigger space to store my toys.

Experience

This. Toy. Is. Awesome.

I really did not think I was ready for its girth, but clearly I was and I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially walking around and DPing myself with a dildo (the Double G, to be exact).

Actually since this is a Tantus toy, yes you can use certain silicone lubes with. Metis agrees! They endorse Sliquid and Pjur and have tested both on their toys. I've used Wet Synergy (a blend) and it works just fine. High quality silicones won't interact with each other.

And yes it can retain some odor. Silicone is mostly non-porous but that means that it is very slightly porous. Just enough for odors to stick around if you don't boil. Odor though isn't a sign of bacteria in the case of true silicone butt plugs.

Storage tip: Grab up a pack of cheap drawstring organza bags from your local craft store.

My bad, Dangerous Lilly! I'm a bit of a newb. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

And I don't mind the odor, but I know some people are super sensitive to it.

    Thanks, Jimbo!
