The replacement I was looking for!

The Severin is a graduated anal plug designed to stay put and provide optimal pleasure. Use it for your DP fantasy or use it along with a clit vibe (for the ladies)or masturbator (for the guys). It's shape makes insertion easy and the Severin is very comfortable due to the nice squish and slight flexibility.
Awesome Silicone, excellent design, and stays put!
base might be too wide for some, lint magnet (not a con for me but might be for others)

extremely useful review

The severin, is another wonderful butt plug made by Tantus, which I absolutely adore.

It is probably more for the intermediate anal player then the novice but I would highly recommend a beginner to get it anyways to have something to work up to. Besides most smaller toys get bumped down quickly anyway, having the next size up is always a good thing.

Severin is intended for anal insertion, where it remains quite well, while you tend to other things. The Severin can be used to simulate the DP experience some people enjoy while it could also be used on it's own. Since it comes in the neutral colors of red and black, men who are interested in trying a plug might be more interested in this then a pink or lilac purple plug.

This toy is absolutely safe for anal play, you can't go wrong with Tantus.

Material / Texture

Of course the Severin is made of platinum medical grade silicone, that is phthalate free, hypoallergenic and nonporous. This means that you can sanitize this toy if you intend on sharing it with your partner.

The density of the Severin is quite similar to that of the Ryder butt plug, also by Tantus. It's firm but it has some flexibility and also a bit of squish. It's really comfortable, has a bit of give but I wouldn't go as far as calling it plush.

The finish of the severin is shiny and because of this, lube has a hard time staying on the Severin. You might need more lube with it compared to a toy with a matte finish. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced user, will not affect whether this texture of silicone is right for you, it's really up to your personal taste.

Since it has a shiny finish it is easier to insert, but it still has drag if you touch it in your hand without lube. I should also include that it is a lint magnet.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

I love the design. It's shape reminds me a lot of the Ace Plug Royal. It starts off with a small "nipple" about the size of the tip of my pinky, and graduates to a small bulge followed by a bigger bulge. The largest bulge is 1 inch 1/2 in diameter, while the neck is 1 inch in diameter.

It has a very wide base similar to the Ace plug Royal, however the edges are much more rounded and the base more much more flexible.

This toy is easy to hide in luggage but I don't think that bringing it in a purse with a bottle of lube is such a good idea.

The shape of the toy allows it to stay put in use. I was looking for a toy with bulges that was safe to replace another toy, that I no longer use for safety reasons. The Severin definitely fits the bill. It's easy to insert, it stays in quite well, and it is very comfortable.

The Severin in use keeps you stretched out. Although it is not bigger than the Ryder, in use it feels like it stretches me out more. Perhaps that is due to the fact that the neck is wider on Severin but also because the base is wide. It seems bigger in use because I can feel the base of the plug against my butt much more than with the Ryder, the base is quite prominent.

I think that the shape is ideally designed for a progressive increase in size for anal insertion.

Care and Maintenance

It can be boiled for 3-5 minutes (which I did), washed with a 10% bleach solution, or washed in the dishwasher, top rack no soap.

Personally, I boil my silicone toys once I receive them then wash them with a mild soap or sex toy cleaner and only occasionally reboil my toys.

I have worn it a few times and I feel personally, that it is probably not the best toy for long term wear. In use, although the neck is only one inch, still keeps you open more so then the small neck of the Ryder.

I think that the Severin was meant more to enjoy it's shape, and the sensation of the bumps rather than for long term wear.
Follow-up commentary
I love my Severin a lot for preparing for other or larger toys. I love the sensation of the bulges going in and out when I thrust with it slowly.

But I can't wear it very long. The base is kind of big and annoying for me. It doesn't work well for me during sex compared to the Ryder. The base doesn't chafe but I find it a lot more comfortable to have sex wearing the Ryder than wearing the Severin.

Often times I will wear my Severin to prepare for the Ryder. I don't wear it that long. It feels great during sex, it makes the vaginal canal tighter. But the pleasure ends there for me. Once the Ryder enters I feel more at ease as the base caress' my crack very closely.

It is my go to toy during solo play. I couldn't live with out it but during sex, it's my preparer and not my long term wear plug.
