Ringo - butt plug discontinued by Tantus - review by Tefca

The Tantus Ringo is an larger size butt plug designed for the intermediate to advanced anal toy user. This is *not* a beginners anal toy; you should be able to take a 1.75" plug such as the Tantus Bronco without any discomfort before attempting the Ringo or beyond.

Like all anal toys, it's not gender specific; it's good for everyone. I have heard of these larger toys (such as the Ringo and A-Bomb) being used for vaginal use, but in this bedroom, they are strictly back door toys.

My purpose for getting the Ringo (besides it's fun in it's own right) was to bridge the difference between my current plug of choice (the Bronco) and my "what was I thinking!?!" A-bomb plug. (Word of advice here - don't try to step up from the Bronco to the A-bomb directly - it isn't gonna work!)

This toy, like all of Tantus' silicone toys, is top quality silicone. It has a slight texture to it, which helps keep the lube on the toy instead of being "squeeged" off. There are no seams or other issues to deter from the smooth slickness. Being silicone, it is non-porous and should only be used with non-silicone based lubes. The toy had no smell after a quick "new toy" wash with hot water and anti-bacterial soap.

It only comes in black, unfortunately. I would love to have a red one to warm up with for my red A-Bomb plug.

Phew! This will either make you run screaming for the hills or grab the bottle of lube. My Ringo measures 7 1/4" in circumference, or 2.3" in diameter. It doesn't sound like a huge number, but when you are holding this in your hand and realize it's almost the diameter of a coke can and about 1.5" taller, it can be a little imtimidating! I'm a big guy, and I can't touch thumb and finger all the way around the widest part.

That being said, the Ringo is a very satisfying and filling plug. The unique feature of this classic shaped plug is that the neck is very thick compared to most other plugs. Once the Ringo is fully inserted, the 1 1/4" neck does a good job of giving you a stretched wide feeling.

The Ringo "fills the gap" (pardon the pun) between the Bronco and the A-bomb nicely. It gives me a very full feeling, and the neck width lets you know you're being held open wide. While the A-bomb is still unconquered for me (it's another 1/3" inch bigger in diameter), Ringo is helping me to get there by learning how to relax.

Here's another hint - when you are at the widest part of the plug, don't push it straight in - tilt the plug to reduce the width that is trying to pass though your inner sphincter muscle at the same time.

To me, Ringo doesn't have the same "popping in" feeling like the Bronco; I suspect it's because the neck is so thick. However, this thick neck does make it easier to remove, since the reverse "slope" back up the plug is small. Which brings up another issue, once you have adjusted to the size, Ringo doesn't stay in by itself very well. That "easy to remove" slope also makes it easy to pop back out during movement. Don't plan on using Ringo for extended wear without some sort of harness to keep it in. Even then the large base would probably be visible under clothing.

As with all quality silicone toys, a wash with soap and water is fine for us married folk. If I was sharing it with multiple people, then I probably boil it or run it through the dishwasher (air dry). We store it in a ziploc bag to help keep assorted grunk from attaching itself to the Ringo in the toy drawer.

Tantus toys come in a nice clear plastic box, suspended in a clamshell package in the box. The outside box can be a pain to open sometimes, with 3 plastic tabs on the top of the box that need to be released before you can remove the inner packaging. As one of the other reviewers said, I was really surprised by the sheer size of the box it was shipped in. My wife (knowing I had a new plug on order) looked at the size of the box, looked at me and just rolled her eyes.
