This Introduction Could Use Some Improvement and More Lube

This beginner anal kit was a good idea in theory but was mediocre in practice. The individual pieces mostly seem okay but not up to the standard I'd set for buying them on their own, and the lube tube was way too small to be usable. It might be a decent intro kit if you don't know what you want, but if you DO know what you like, stick to buying better quality pieces individually.

This toy kit seemed like a good idea on the surface, but in practice could use some work. The pack comes with plastic anal beads, a small vibrator, a silicon flange-type attachment which makes the vibrator anal-safe, toy cleaner, a tiny tube of lube, and a DVD which serves to guide a hetero couple into the joys of anal sex though the use of toys.

Overall, quality isn't excellent, but the various toys are at least made of plastic and silicone and thus are body safe and easy to clean. It's a nice spread of items, even if those items aren't of the greatest quality.

The best part of this kit is the flange, which can be used on more than just the vibrator in the kit and is great at converting most of one's beloved vibrators and dildos into anal-safe instruments of pleasure. The vibrator is not particularly powerful but has a moderate strength which could be considered adequate for the first-time one uses a vibrator in the anal area, though I consider it too weak for normal use. Furthermore, towards the base of the toy, it seems particularly molded to fit the flange well, which actually makes it awkward to use as a normal vibrator without the flange attached.

The anal beads are pretty smooth and increase in size at a nice pace, going from tiny to challenging. The toy itself is this pretty iridescent blue-purple, and is probably the coolest looking thing in the box. While I like how it doesn't have any porous string, the plastic used is not a particularly forgiving material, and so it's not necessarily what I would consider beginner-friendly. Also, it isn't the kind of plastic which is safe for cleaning with heat - say in a pot of boiling water - as it will get soft enough bed easily and deform slightly. Stick to using toy cleaner or antibacterial soap when sanitizing these toys. The toy cleaner that comes with it seems standard and has a spray cap, making it pretty easy to use (if perhaps a little wasteful), and I'm glad it comes with the kit. However, the tiny little tube of lube that comes with the kit breaks my heart. It is simply way too small to be practical. It doesn't provide enough lube for safe sex, nor does it give any kind of ingredient list, so buyer beware. The lube itself isn't particularly impressive, and reminds me of my old tube of KY, so I haven't actually used it for anal. My recommendation is that if you intend on buying this kit, also buy a nice bottle of water-based lube (avoid silicone to prevent any reaction with the silicone anal adapter).

The most surprising part of the entire package was the DVD, since it wasn't nearly as terrible or cringe-worthy as I expected. Parts of it were very erotic and got me decently in the mood, and the actors seemed to enjoy themselves. It was good at emphasizing the pleasure one can receive from anal stimulation without being over the top. The DVD content was primarily aimed at hetero-couples, but most of the information could be adapted to whoever was watching.

Overall this product sounds good in theory, but in practice needs a bit of effort. It has a nice selection for a beginner, and is at a decent price, but the quality is just not as good as I would personally want for a beginner to anal sex. If I could go in and replace all the plastic toys with silicone, the tiny lube tube for a nice sized bottle, and add in a little anal plug, I'd say it was the perfect anal kit. Instead, it's relegated to mediocre.
Follow-up commentary
I haven't reached for most of the parts of this kit at all. The vibrator is still too weak and too cheap for me to ever use it when I could be using something much more interesting. The stiff, plastic, anal beads are nearly untouched, nor have I watched the DVD again -- and the tiny tube of lubricant has become the butt of many a joke among my friends. The only things I have used since my first review are the toy cleaner (which is decent enough), and the flange, which has been used a couple of times to great success. In comparison to all the available options for anal play, this kit's mediocrity makes it a disappointment.
