The toy, long and short, is designed to be put up your butt. It presses against the prostate, gently but consistently, to give that little added sensation you may have been looking for. This toy works when sitting or during sex, though I would not recommend it for all day wear. Do not lean back too far, if you are sitting, as the handle isn't intended to be used as a leverage device.

It is smooth, hard plastic. It does have a slight give, but the nature of the toy (prostate stimulation) demands that it presses firmly against a very specific spot. The texture allows it to be used easily, and the material allows the gamut of lubrication choices.

The shape catches the eye, which would make this toy impossible to travel with in the open without drawing some attention and questions. It's small, which means a man experienced in prostate-play probably won't get the same thrill-ride that a novice would, but it's a favorite in my collection that I find myself returning to when something simple fills the need.
